Thanks @Paul Raven . I know Lee talks about this in her Paley interview or whatever it's called but hadn't seen the print version.

And then another soap would help revive her career a decade later.

The Search flood episodes:

https://www.youtube.com/@GrafMarlo/videos

Thanks for sharing! I still get chills whenever hearing Joanne (Mary Stuart) scream "Oh my God!" as the flood waters rush at everyone. Such a iconic moment in daytime history. The flood was obviously done out of desperation to get viewers, but it was produced very well. I am still shaking my head after watching Marcia MacCabe's interview a few years back in the Locher Room where she revealed that Mary Stuart couldn't swim and they had her in a huge tank of water! Like one of the most iconic daytime actresses of all time, and they take a risk like that. How wild!

Super rare episodes of the short lived 1975 CBS game show Musical Chairs are resurfacing on YouTube. Mary Stuart appears on a few episodes from September 1975 as one of the singing celebrities!

Woah my God! Was that THE scene?

I've been waiting YEARS to see Jennifer Pace fall through that damn patio door.

OK...finally that much talked about scene. Why would she turn and walk straight into a glass door?

The safety standards in Henderson must have been poor at the time. Teeny little Jennifer should have bounced off it.

Jennifer must have tripped over something and fell into the door.

Why was the doctor in the next scene apologizing to Scott? And why did Scott walk away as if he'd been told they weren't going to give him a refund?

Poor Jennifer. Her accident precipitated so much - her subsequent disfigurement, her affair with John Wyatt, her suicide attempt that caused brain damage, her shooting Eunice to death and ultimately ending up in a sanitarium.

I wish SFT had brought her back down the road, however. If not with Morgan Fairchild, then maybe another actress; and even if both John and Eunice were gone, maybe she could've returned in order to wreak havoc in Suzi's life.

The poster Edwin Sanchez explains that this ad may have not presented what was actually seen on screen in the episode.

He suggests it was actually shown in slow motion w/o any sound.

That would probably been more effective.

I was thinking that, in fact I feel like I’ve read comments from fans that say thats what happened. The Doctors did that when Althea was accidentally pushed through a window during the same time period. The stunt didn’t look great, but slowing it down made it more dramatic for sure. It’s crazy to see stunts from 60s and 70s soaps (and TV in general), I am sure for fans at the time it was shocking, but it all looks so cheesy seeing it now. The only soap stunt from the 70s that really shocked me while watching was when Julie caught fire from a stove explosion on Days. So chilling and realistic.

I wonder if Scott's apartment (I'm assuming that where this took place) always had those large glass sliding doors or we suddenly saw a different aspect of the set to accommodate the stunt?

I believe Jennifer was pregnant with Scott's child during the time of the accident. They had scuffled over how Scott was still in love with Kathy. When she went through the glass, she not only became disfigured, she also lost the baby. I believe Scott ended up marrying Jennifer out of guilt, or stayed married to her longer than he had intended.

I would have brought Morgan Fairchild and Jennifer back in March, 1985, when Suzi was losing her mind after killing Warren Carter. Fairchild may have been busy filming "North and South" or still under contract to ABC for "Paper Dolls." Suzi would meet Jennifer in the psych ward and befriended the mysterious woman who wants to mother Suzi. You could have Jennifer return to Henderson and leave it unclear whether or not she has improved. She could reconnect with Stephanie, hide out from Jo, and start to connect with Jonah which could put her at odds with Wendy, who doesn't completely remember her mother's old friend.

You could deal with the ramifications of the fate of the men in Jennifer's lives. John's death after marrying her best friend Stephanie and Scott in prison for vehicular manslaughter after his alcoholism became a problem again.

I think I would have also done a thread with Jennifer becoming involved with Lloyd in order to set up some sorta long-term conflict for her to return. Maybe having her briefly marry Lloyd in a triangle with Stephanie and Jennifer wins in order to stick it to Stephanie only to slip again, maybe attacking Jo, leading to Jennifer's return to a psych ward. Later, I would reveal that Jennifer was pregnant and Stephanie and Lloyd would raise the child instead of going Lloyd / Liza / Hogan.
