July 30, 200916 yr Member I don't disagree that it helped the show at the time, but this regime obviously go caught up in that "shock" and "awe", misogynistic, plot-driven, and over the top storytelling, and a year later, it's exactly that type of tone and storytelling that's hurting the show. You can do it, but you have to know how to balance it out and when to do it. The thing is, they've been doing too much of that type of storyteelling for a few moths now, and it looks like it's only getting worse over the next few weeks. It's amateurs being possessed by power. Exactly, and with her inexperience and polarizing Co-HW's, the hope can't stay alive, at least, not with me. I do applaud you for loving this show so much that you wouldn't abandon it even if it is in the worst condition it has ever been in. That must be some love. I personally wouldn't do it. To appease fanbases. I hate fanbases (the sick ones especially). I really do. They always do more harm than good.

Jill will be burned in a boathouse fire. Watch.
July 30, 200916 yr Member Jill will be burned in a boathouse fire. Watch. If they suddenly find themselves without a "shock and owe" moment in a week they might just go for that one.
July 30, 200916 yr Member It's amateurs being possessed by power. Yes, and you know it's bad when women constantly have to be victimized to drive story and a death has to occur every couple of months. That's what they think is working, and people like us, don't agree. People like that shouldn't be running this show, IMO. If they want to get drunk off power, go do it someplace else. When I'm done with Y&R, I'm done with daytime for good. It's the only one I'm consistently watching right now, not matter how bad and sh!tty I think it is. It's one of "my" shows. I hate fanbases (the sick ones especially). I really do. They always do more harm than good. This constant flip-flopping with this Quad from hell is a good example how they try to appease all the fanbases to the detriment of the characters and the show. July 30, 200916 yr Member It's amateurs being possessed by power. That & EVERYTHING is plot driven. There used to be scenes & stories that were totally independent of the plot. I hate fanbases (the sick ones especially). I really do. They always do more harm than good. HOMOPHOBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 30, 200916 yr Member Jill will be burned in a boathouse fire. Watch. LOL! With these HW's, I wouldn't rule it out. 1. It would be another over the top plot. and 2. A woman would be victimized yet again. Y&R goes for both of these crappy things these days. Edited July 30, 200916 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
July 30, 200916 yr Member HOMOPHOBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excuse me? I hope to God you're joking... I was talking about Shick/Shack/Phick/Phack/Lane...

TPTB are trying to appease 1 horrible fanbase & it's screwing EVERYTHING. Excuse me? I hope to God you're joking... Relax. It was a joke. Edited July 31, 200916 yr by DeeeDee
July 30, 200916 yr Member Relax. It was a joke. Okay then. Sorry Toups, we'll try to control ourselves.

July 30, 200916 yr Member Exactly! Katherine, Jill, Mackenzie & Chloe should HATE Cane but all 4 are acting like he's God while TPTB make Nina & Billy look bad for hating poor wittle Ostrich Boy. Chloe' s not acting like Cane's God, she still hates him. And I love that Nina and Billy still hate him. The look on Nina's face when Katherine hugged him Monday was awesome.
July 30, 200916 yr Member See ATWT, I figured those scenes of Jack and Sharon were already safely in the can when I suggested that Jack would respond to her lies by pulling a Cameron Kirsten on her and delivering the hamburger smack down with an added kick to the pregnant gut. PB hasn't had his contract fallout yet for Jack to be getting the character smack down that Jess and Melody get to look forward to from now on as a result of their negotiations. Unfortunately, it looks like once again Sharon will be able to skate by her lies without anyone calling her out, except possibly Phyllis. I agree with everyone else that Mac and JT have far more chemistry than she does with Billy. How they could have found the one girl who had no sexual spark with BM and said, that's the perfect Mac is beyond me. So Nina was a perfect mother? Maybe as an example of how not to get trapped by some girl who wants to get preggers by a Chancellor heir, which is why Chance is keeping it in his pants and probably watching his drinks at parties. I didn't mind the Nick and Phyllis scenes. Hopefully he'll tell Sharon to shove it when she makes her declaration about the baby but I doubt it.
