Members YRBB
Cool. That seems to be the theme, isn't it? There seem to be quite a few people who were willing to be patient despite having issues with parts of the show. But this Phillip story seems to have pushed a lot of people off the edge, and not without reason: This must be MAB's worst story yet.
Members YRBB
I recall a time when I was bitching about the pacing of the show and the constant relying on deaths.... but my posts were ignored! Where does that put me in that tier thingy? (Totally Useless Snippet of the day)
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Hmm, so Y&R's biggest kissass, Nelson Branco, finally says something criticizing this show and its writing regime. He claims if things don't improve, he'll be ringing the alarm bells. We'll see about that.... http://tvguide.sympatico.msn.ca/Soaps/Nelson_Ratings/Articles/090720_soapgeist_NB
Members brimike
LOL! Pacing and deaths, to me, are a Top Tier issue. Sorry I didn't give you credit along with Y&RWorldTurner, YRBB. You have my apologies.

Members MarkH
So, I'm as dissatisfied as anyone right now...but I'm really appreciating the Lily story. Human, relatable, a real story (very close to home in our household), terrific emotional performances--especially from St. John, Khalil and Goddard. Every beat in the Winters' clan has felt right to me since Cane's fraud was revealed. That this story group would do well now--after so much neglect and ineffective writing--shows me that not all is lost.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
We'll see how long the ramifications of her cancer last or if there's any significant impact from it. Right now, to me, it looks like a big plot point to bring Cane and Lily back together and for them to realize that they were meant to be together, this fast. I'm not saying the performances haven't been good, but I think this story is about Cane and Lily's "love story" than anything else. Mind you, they only recently got over the Delia fiasco and custody crap. But this story is only about Cane and Lily. The damage that's been done to Neil and Devon is still there, and those characters are still ignored and not written for. TPTB obviously only write for Lily in this family set, and right now, Neil and Devon are obviously only supporting her. Until they show me they're invested in telling good stories with Neil and Devon and properly develop them, I'm not calling this story a success for the Winters family. Members MarkH
That's true. But Kristoff has really made the MOST of this opportunity. That was especially true in the poolside scenes and then at Cane's house, where he SLAMMED Cane. He was the most beautifully passionate part of those scenes. He had a little harder time summoning tears today (especially in his later scene with Olivia), but I bought him totally as a concerned and loving father. While he is in a "supporting" role, he is pretty close to the emotional core of this. I'm learning to take this day-by-day, so maybe tomorrow will suck. But for one day, for one story, it was nice to see people and emotions and situations I could understand and relate to.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Yes, the emotional element is definitely missing from the show and in the main stories that requite a lot of suspension of disbelief. It was definitely a needed change. We'll see where it goes from here...
Members bellcurve
Translation: Where's that invitation to the Emmy afterparty, MARIA?! In all seriousness, I certainly hope Nelson continues to stay on the show's problems. When the head cheerleader doesn't care about the team anymore, it's time for them to come up with a winning strategy.
Members MoTheGreat
I liked Jill & Kay as relative. I wish they still was then I won't have to deal with Billy & Mac reunion. I believe they could have made a story with Mac & Billy dealing with them being related. Because when they recast Mac with Rachel & Billy with that other guy. They wasn't in town at the same time to deal with being related.
Members cara mia
Billy & Mac would have been so much better as star-crossed lovers who could never be together. There was no need to bring them together, especially with two recasts in the roles.
Members DRW50
An off week? More like an off 3-4-5 months. But perhaps there's a well-hung actor at Y&R who can provide some good blind items. I know this isn't exactly an earthshattering scoop, but I was watching some of the end of the first Knots Landing season, and who should turn up as a loose woman, a bit on the side for off-the-wagon Gary Ewing? Carolyn Conwell, the future Mary Williams. What would Mary say! She was very good. I miss seeing her on Y&R, I hope she's doing OK with her health problems. Members JackPeyton
LOL! I agree. That has been the only aspect of the show i have liked in some time now, but i doubt it will last. Lets be honest, its been an off 5 years with a few good months here and there. LOL.
