Nikki & Adam would really fcuk with Victor's head.

I feel really excited for the new Adam because the actor seems so genuinely excited. His twitter is just full of him seeming very happy to be a part of the show.

he posted this on Thursday:

What exactly is Adam going to do now? Cause I doubt this guy would openly call kissing another man as perverse.

I think Sharon Case is a pretty laughable actress. I mean, she's not horrible but seeing her soap opera cry for the past 6 months has become too much. I thought Joshua Morrow was far better than her during Cassie's death, it didn't help that Sharon was barely shown grieving her daughter at the time (it was all about Nick's pain, which pissed me off). But yeah, she's slightly better than Katherine Kelly Lang to me.

Honestly I think JM and SC wouldn't be half as watchable if they didn't have Peter Bergman and Michelle Stafford to carry them. Not for a second do I believe Sharon loves Jack but I sure as hell believe Jack loves her. Pathetically so. Same with Nick and Phyllis, I believe Nick wants to [!@#$%^&*] her brains out but to love her? Yeah right.

I so disagree! SC has digged really deep and brought an intense, almost epic portrayal of a woman on the verge. When she was stealing random stuff, irrationally lashing out at Nick then the next moment leaning on him for support, she was electric and believeable. Even my roomate who hates soaps, saw her one day and was like - "what's she doing on a soap? She can act!" Of course ?I politely bitch-slapped her for the dig on soaps, but SC is doing brilliantly.

ESPECIALLY Adam. The son of VICTOR NEWMAN. You must have some clue there might be a dark side. And you must relish it.

I feel, in the beginning, Engen liked playing "snarky" at Newman Enterprises. But I guess that was as far as he was willing to go.

I'll take MS and PB's scene a few years ago where he found out about the Phlick affair over any of SC's handwringing. I think it's all pretty melodramatic, I keep waiting for the organ music.

I totally agree with the point that Sharon doesn't love Jack an IOTA. She clings to him as a provider...not necessarily of $$, but of stability, step-fathership, whatever. I remember when Sharon was falling apart in his arms a few weeks ago, PB said "I've never loved you more than I do at this moment." And then they f*cked.

PB's Jack is very, very sick...twisted...but in a wonderful way. He gets off on weak women. At least on weak Sharon. Interesting.

I agree with you, Cashton. Right now, I see Sharon, and I totally believe she is falling apart. She accomplishes this without histrionics, IMO, which I appreciate even more.

Really? I'll have to look more closely. I've really felt the absence of melodrama from her...but maybe I'm not looking close enough.

I'm pretty sure it's just Sharon because he desperately wanted to stay with Phyllis and she is far from weak (when not with Nick). I think having two weak-willed partners has made Jack and Phyllis come off as just sad.

Has an episode gone by without Sharon crying and looking like she wants to kill herself? I'm surprised she's able to dress herself in the morning.

To each his own baby! But she's upped her game so much this year. I wish MAB would write some more comedy for SC. Remember the Phyllis fantasy of Sharon with Nick? That was hillarious. And SC with Dru was so gold too.

Well, PB is definitely pathetic with SC. No denying. I view it as "just desserts" for all the evil sh!t that dude has done the last few years.

No. But I thought that was good acting  My mistake :)

I agree with you, except for the bolded part.

I mean, I thought both actresses did what they could with that. If they had had a few more years together, I think it would have been one of the best female friendships.

But they kind of put them together as an insta-friendship (borne of a shared hatred for Phyllis). I never really bought the foundation of their friendship. Still, both actresses were great together, and the loss of the friendship is another reason I'm sorry VR left.

I have always found it a missed opportunity that Sharon did not remain a confidante of Neil/Lily/Devon's...not taking Dru's place, but trying to be there for the family. Had they done that...organically...over years...I think something could have evolved between Neil and Sharon.

I'm sorry but the Winters should HATE Phyllis. There should be a rivalry there. If CK could do more, Lily should have some vendetta against Phyllis. Not that it was Phyllis's fault for Dru going off the cliff, but I just don't think that Lily should be doing photo shoots with Phyllis and stuff. There should be some subtext between these two women.

    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
    • Hahaha. Jean Hackney, Angelica Nero, and the Falcon Crest henchwomen were all straight out of a James Bond movie.
