Members Khan
Speak for yourself! When it comes to identifying sucky soap plots immediately, they call me "Quick Draw McGraw".

Members Khan
Nancy Curlee might be good at HW'ing Y&R, but what makes you think the Dobsons would be good, too, Alvin? I still remember some of their work on ATWT and SANTA BARBARA; and I've seen old tapes of their GL stuff, as well. It was all fantastic, of course, but I'd hardly call it Y&R-esque. Members Soapsuds
They were good at ATWT but just awful on Santa Barbara.

Members Khan
Oh, that would be good! I enjoyed his play, "The Substance of Fire", as well as the first season of "Brothers & Sisters". Yeah, Jon Robin Baitz would make a good HW. Too bad, though, he'd look at a soap opera as "slummin' it".

Members Khan
Why not? AMC's already a horror show these days. He wouldn't have to do much to keep it there. BTW, Stephen King also watched ATWT back in the '70's, before he hit it big w/ "Carrie". Now, imagine that!

Members Y&RWorldTurner
Oh, I just think the Dobson's are very creative people and they're storytellers. I don't so much mind if the writing bears an old Y&R trademark, I just want diverse stories that make sense and make up one hour of compelling drama each day. Damn, I sound like a JFP Emmy speech. No one is every going to be emulate Bill Bell or his style anyway, but I realize in this soap climate, consistently decent storytelling is not the norm. Y&R has a lot of problems, but I guess I'd still consistently watch it over anything on ABC Daytime these days.
