No, I do not know but I was thinking that I might look on Peacock & see if I could figure that out. I might even try to do a rewatch of it & capture the scene. I believe one of the detectives even makes a comment about the TV show that is on. That would seem to me to be an interesting addition to my "Stunts" reels & of course I always pass info like this on to Eddie.

Margaret DePriest, who we called "Maggie the Beast", wrote 3 serial killer storylines at AW. One, the Sin Stalker, years ago, and 2 in the 90s, always male killers & female victims. She wrote serial killer storylines at other soaps, too.

Donna Swajeski began working for the network. She crossed over & began writing for AW during a strike, so she was a scab. Later, that same network forced her to write something in an AW story that she was dead-set against. At GL she wrote my favorite "Otalia" love scene, where Olivia & Natalia FINALLY break down & confess their love for each other. So success at AW, followed by success at GL but then next at AMC fairly epic fail.

Woah that's hell of a lot of serial killer stories! And were they any good though?

And it's interesting to learn more about Donna Swajeski, who I'm finding to be... one hell of a great head writer. Thank you for that bit of info.

I can think of 2 that were good, IMO. AW, the Sin Stalker where David O'Brien played shrink Dr. Alan Glaser who was revealed to be the Sin Stalker. O'Brien, a wonderful actor, Steve on THE DOCTORS. At DAYS she wrote a good one but I can't remember his moniker. But, most of the rest, I would say not.

I was only kidding just now! And even if someone had taken it seriously, I wouldn't have cared! And I'm happy that it's a home for you two... And now it's home to me too. I've come to stay in this topic! My car is parked outside... and my luggage is at the door...

Am I going to be greeted by some gin and tonic and some chocolate otherworldly cookies?

And not to get off-topic... I'm pressing play on July 17th 1987 just this minute. We'll see how episode 3 of my DePriest experiment goes!

On the plus side, the pace of her storytelling was less sluggish than it had been in 1985. Lesoleil and Egypt/Arizona had been full of strange new characters and draggy mysteries. But on the minus side, DePriest was not subtle, was overly simplistic, and creepy when it came to sexuality, especially (always female) virginity. She wrote out characters who added flavour because she considered them outside her core families. She ignored most history and replaced it with her own idea of what would create the most tension in the present.

Oh my! All of this sounds like I'm in for a ride... not sure if it's going to be a blissful Ferris wheel or a horrifying roller coaster. I guess I'll find out soon or later. Haha! But I do love your commentary and insights! Thank you for keeping me on my toes!

Come on in! We like it here. And, Xanthe & Mona & EFulton speak so wonderfully about our favorite soap that NBC execs were heard to say wonderful things about it only after they let it be canceled! (Humming You Take Me Away to Another World ...)

Tanqueray & diet tonic coming right up! But, cookies, all I have is macaroons!

Oh my! I feel like it's going to be a bumpy night. In all the right ways!  I feel so welcomed! Cheers to all! And cheers to Another World! A soap opera destined to live forever. (Lights on and cue the theme music)
