Is Gina Tognoni's most WANTED soap actress right now?

I'm thinking it'll ultimately come down to OLTL (as Kelly) versus Y&R (as Victoria). She'll choose Y&R if she's willing to leave the east coast. She'll choose OLTL if she's not willing to make the move west. Money shouldn't be an issue here as this was "Guiding Light" and the pay probably wasn't all that delightful.

Not in the current economy, I think she'll take another soap job with a 1-2 year contract.

Kelly was so flakey and bubble gum in the beginning but by the time Gina left I think the character had a heck of a lot more layers in there to play and to continue to unwrap. I'm not sure it's a wise idea to come back and play for the boy's team (Pratt/Frons/Guza) at ABC though. Y&R would be the smart decision.

How she kept a straight face with her constant praise of GL during the first months of the production change, I'll never now, but she seems very loyal to the show she's on.

I agree completely! I liked Wendy a lot, but Gina is Dinah to me. I think she came in and did something that absolutely nobody expected her to do. When she was originally cast in the role I was like eh, I don't know, but she quickly wow'd me and now I just think she's the ultimate Dinah. Her range is just crazy, she can, and probably has, literally done it all in one episode - from hilarious to psychotic to vulnerable.

I agree about her being a team player, it almost got to a point where I was annoyed because she was being such a cheerleader and team player when the writing on the show was so awful, but she seems to never have a bad word to say and seems to completely support whatever show she's on and those around her - in addition to always showing respect for those she worked with before at OLTL. Also, if you watch clips of the Emmys when she's there she's always so incredibly respectful of daytime as a whole, she was the first person on their feet when Tony Geary and Jeanne Cooper won their Emmys last year, she was jumping up and down when Jordan Clarke won his Emmy, she just seems really supportive.

If the economy wasn't so bad I'd really cheer for her to leave daytime. I just don't know how feasible that is given the current status of Hollywood. I hate the character of Kelly, she's just a dull, ditzy, drip, as fabulous as Gina and Heather both are I don't think either can make that character anything memorable.

Gina and Kim Zimmer's contracts are both up in June though, so what do you think, they'll just sign a slight extension to fininsh out the show?

It would never happen, but I'd love to see her as a recast Bianca on AMC. I love Eden, but there's something very asexual about her that goes beyond the writing. She just has no sexual spark. Can you imagine what Gina would do with the role?

Whoa, I dunno about that. She's too strong for Bianca, Bianca as an individual and Bianca as balanced with Kendall. GT is a Greenlee, a (stronger) Kendall or Reese. I could see a brunette Bree Williamson as Bianca before GT.

I think it's Y&R or nothing for GT as far as soaps go. If she chooses to go to work right away and not take a break, I think her representation should send her on as many New York primetime auditions as possible, the L&Os, Damages, Fringe, Rescue Me, et cetera. She may not want to move to L.A. right now. It's also a great opportunity for her to try her hand at some quality off-Broadway theatre, though I'm not sure if she's ever been on the stage.

Oooh, you know it took me a second because Lauren Holly and that sweet little voice are still so fresh in my head, but I would love to see Gina as Erica AND Adam's niece, she has past with them both. If we could manage to bag Maurice as Nico, we'd have that Sonny and Gina as Carly magic.

Wait, now you've got me going. While you're at it, bring on Robert Newman and Kim Zimmer as Ross and Ellen. Okay, forget Kim, but Robert can come as a reformed yet still kinda broken Ross and end up being a love interest for Erica. A rival for his uncle Adam.

I would think she'd wind up at Y&R too, but as Victoria? I know it's a business, but keeping Thad Luckinbill around would create for a very awkward situation. Something tells me that TPTB like Heinle's meek version of Victoria. What about as a recast Heather? The actress who plays her is a dud, and Gina would really give the character some fire. And then let her tempt Michael away from Lauren. LeBlanc really needs an acting partner who appears on a regular basis and who's a match for his talent.

Y&R, sure, but like you, the Victoria talk always seemed strange to me given Amelia and Thad. Can't say I know what he adds to the show exactly, but sacking two actors to bring on Gina Tognoni is in bad form. Backlash. How do we feel about GT and Cane, Neil, Billy? I just don't want to watch her get man handled by Nick which would of course be solved if she was Victoria. But as I asked weeks ago, is there room for GT AND MS on Y&R? Not if GT's character is anything like her Dinah. Are they friends irl, I could see MS being kind of jealous. But what do I know...

I don't see her having chemistry with Daniel Goddard. Also, he is took weak an actor to be paired with her; she would eat him alive. I think Gina would give Heather some fire. GH would also be an obvious guess, but they already have enough strong-willed women in that age bracket, though I could see her having amazing chemistry with Maurice Benard. Not that I want more of Sonny, but I can see Frons acquiring her for Maurice's new love interest.

ITA. She has some primetime work on her resume. I think it would be in her best interest to at least try to make the jump again.
