The couple's brood already includes Joseph, who will be 9 in March, Katherine, 7, Basil, 2, and Benjamin, 12, from West's first marriage. Members P.J. Posted January 25, 2009 Members Share Posted January 25, 2009 Temp recasts always suck. Yes, sometimes they are necessary evils (and let's hope that it won't become medically necessary). But you can't just stick some random blonde in there to "be" Carly. I'd much rather TIIC give Carly a less-than-character-assassinating reason to leave town for a while, than throw some Carly-lite version into the fire. With the scaled back airtime for everyone thanks to budget cuts, they wouldn't have to pre-tape nearly as much to cover at least part of the maternity leave. There are quite a few examples of the temp being just as good, if not better than the person they are replacing.
