I'm guessing it's one of the following: Marla Kanelos, Beth Milstein, or Melissa Salmons. I would hate it if it's Salmons, but they've given her lots of pivotal episodes to script since she's started, but that's no guarantee.

I could easily see someone else like Esser taking back the Script Editor role, and Kanelos being replaced by someone else too.

Then again, it's probably Jay Gibson for all I know...

Toups said its a writer under contract: Zimmerman, Casiello, Cohen are all trial basis...so it's one of the contract writers. Since Conner is coming in on contract as a breakdown writer, it would make sense that one of the contract breakdown writers is going (my guess would be Cwikly or Gibson). I think MAB loves all the former AMC writers (Kanelos, Beall, Conner). Salmons has never been fired from a soap; she's highly regarded by writers and producers. I had the good fortune of meeting Salmons in the 1980s in NYC. She had been in the P&G writer development program and had been hired by Pam Long to write Search for Tomorrow scripts but the show went off the air. So, Pam hired her at GL in 1987 when she returned.

I know..I am not stupid..I was joking with Toups. Salmons has written for ATWT too. It's hard to see her on Y&R. I never thought she was a fit there. But I guess I was wrong.

I'd hate to lose Salmons, I've really enjoyed her scripts. Kanelos and Milstein have both done good work, neither of them deserves a firing.

Like I said, I hope it's Jay Gibson...his stuff is 'meh'

Isn't Martha Byrne on B&B something that we should be looking for? IE- not in credits yet?

I forgot to add Martha to the "not happened in credits yet". :)

Anyway, since it's only one teaser........it was Melissa Salmons who was fired.

Damn, I liked her. They should've fired a breakdown writer instead, they have too many.

I guess Teresa Zimmerman will take her place.

That's too bad. She needs to find her way back to GL or ATWT to help the hack HW there.

Damn! Melissa Salmons did such great work...I agree with Y&RWorldTurner, it must be Zimmerman who got the easy signing since she's from the Bell universe.

Y&R's current, non on air credits, writing team:

Maria Arena Bell

Hogan Sheffer

Scott Hamner

Marla Kanelos

Natalie Minardi Slater

Beth Milstein

Paula Cwikly

Jay Gibson

Amanda L. Beall

Lisa Connor

Tom Casiello (trial)

Eric Freiwald & Linda Schreiber

Sandra Weintraub

Janice Ferri Esser

Mike Cohen (trial)

Teresa Zimmerman (trial)

That's like 2 writing staffs. LOL

I'm guessing some of the people hired on a trial basis won't be lasting, and some on contract will be gone after their cycle ends. But as always, I expect replacements to be made.
