Michelle Patrick can't do any worse under Pratt than under McTavish...............

Hopefully she can help with the writing inconsistencies when it comes to the characters, and maybe she can get it through Pratt's head that he can't just make up his own time line for things, especially when it doesn't gel with what was seen and said onscreen

She's just a script writer, ZF. She doesn't have that kind of influence on (or for that matter, even access to) the head writer, or their storytelling process. She gets an outline and writes a script out of it, with the timeline she's given.

Stephen and Nancy are pretty active in their community in North Carolina, per my google searches of them, so I guess they have other things going for them.

I know, it's just wishful thinking ;)

I think all of the writers on AMC now participate in the story meetings, especially with the lack of breakdowns. No, she won't have a huge impact - but she will get plenty of interaction with Pratt (and his AHWs).

Speaking of his AHWs, can anyone pinpoint Daran Little's impact on the show? I don't feel it.

Apparently he started off not knowing a damned thing about the show's history, but as of a month or so ago I heard he was very well-liked by the rest of the staff.

Lewis and Patrick (until now that is) go without saying, but I'm surprised Stephen Demorest hasn't joined any show yet. He's had experience with breakdowns, scripts, editing, and head writing. I've always loved his work (you know I love my late 80's/early 90's GL writers!).

I like Demorest too. I think he would be a great asset to any show in the HW/Co-HW/AHW capacity.

he's been through enough shows, working alongside enough egos!

He should write a tell all book. (I wish someone would!)

I'd love to see him back somewhere though - I selfishly hope he doesn't go the way of Hal Corley and Lorraine Broderick. Although who knows - maybe they're a lot happier being as far away from daytime as possible? LOL!

I'd love to see a Demorest/Corley HW team at ATWT. Of course Goutman would be gone too.

Hopefully if they have conversations, Michelle can influence him in a positive way -- assuming they're close from their GH days.

AMC had to have been a huge departure for him, since British soap writing is so vastly different in most respects. Not only in terms of stories, but the way they're actually written and developed.

So, Kubla Khan, what's Chuck as a person? Kind, friendly, positive, fun?

No, if they lure Stephen back, they must lure Nancy back with him!

Always surprised me than Nancy just dropped the hell out of daytime in early 94, given her connections to her husband and all who stayed active in the industry.

I LOVE Corley too though, he should be HW or Co-HW at AMC.

Aha, actually, I have a tidbit that's gonna make ZF hate Little: He is a big champion of Bianca/Reese (he's an out and vocal gay man, apparently).

You're ABSOLUTELY right, KK. My brain stopped working for a sec, and I forgot they're doing that. (Which shows you what a flake I am, since about two pages ago, I talked about how glad I was that she had breakdown AND script experience. Holy Early Alzheimer's!)

My bad! :-)

Not surprising, given that he was at Coronation Street during the Todd/Nick storyline, and was on staff at Hollyoaks though a lot of the John Paul/Craig storyline.
