I was thinking the same thing last night before this new addition. Seems unbalanced to me. But maybe it takes that many people to execute Pratt's vision?

In a recent Daytime Confidential podcast they were talking about how Pratt takes the approach to headwriting that Dena Higley did at OLTL: the "stories" he pitches may be nothing more than couple of sentences and then it's up to everyone else to flesh it out and make it work while he cashes his paycheck and goes home to watch his favorite Melrose Place episodes.

I believe James Kahn is sticking around permanently. Haven't heard a thing about KH.

Christopher Dunn essentially replaced Daran Little. There was some overlap where they were writing at the same time, but DL will be gone from the credits shortly (I think within the next month at the latest).

I'm still very curious as to why Daran Little was brought in to AMC. There had to have been some plan to make him head writer. At least that's what all the speculation was.

I'm not surprised. I'm in a situation similar to that. I've been approached by a long time friend who pitched the idea of an internet project and sketched out the ideas, but asked if I could maybe write the story. It's an... interesting... way to work, I have to say. Someone else comes up with this grand idea and it's up to you to try to draw the lines to connect the dots... no necessarily knowing if you're connecting the right dots to make the proper picture.

Especially when I'm used to executing my own ideas from conception through gestation to delivery.

As far as All My Children is concerned, I'm not diggin' it. It's as plain as day that there isn't a single thought out story. And I don't even mean in the form of a written bible of long term projection. It just seems as if they conference call and Pratt goes "what if we do this this week?" And then next week it changes.

I guess we won't know until their names appear in February but I wonder who will be directing AMC in LA?

Will it be JHC's people from Port Charles (e.g. Jill Ackles, Andrew Lee....I guess she won't be able to get Scott McKinsey from GH and sadly Francesca James lives in New York), Lisa de Cazotte's people from Passions (e.g. Karen Wilkens, Peter Brinckeroff) or, god help us, Pratt's out-of-work prime time friends (e.g whoever directed Melrose Place and Models Inc). Or maybe to keep costs down even more they'll hire a couple of newbies with very short resumes.
