It's just naked Russian propaganda. He is beholden to Russia and China and we aren't even meant to care. Oh that's fear-mongering, crying wolf. He is putting out one executive order after another to remove any power over him, President Elon is going to gut social security, the VA, etc. but no, we're still just hysterical.

My father served in World War II. (yes that's accurate - I'm a senior citizen and my father was middle-aged when I was born).
He was lifelong military AND lifelong Democrat/liberal with caring about world affairs and international friendship.
He'd just be so upset now!

He lived through McCarthyism and talked about how horrid that was, and that's similar to what Musk is doing internally in the USA right now.  But what's happening now is much worse. And the international stance is just terrifying.  I just cannot imagine what he'd say about this.

Trump wants to have sole control of independent federal agencies.

Currently New York has laws or regulations that relieve traffic congestion, so that cars and public transportation can run on time, with less traffic jams and less pollution.
It's working and people are better able to get to work.

It's a daily $9.00 fee designed to reduce traffic in heart of Manhattan and raise billions to upgrade subway train and bus systems

Trump issued some order against New York to try to stop this regulation, and if he succeeds, then traffic congestion will get much worse.

People have been protesting saying that Trump is not a king and doesn't have the right to take over everything.

In response to this, Trump made a fake Time Magazine cover
(except that it's titled TRUMP instead of TIME) and he put himself on this "cover" as with a golden crown on his head, saying he's triumphing over the New York traffic situation.
It's gross, so I won't post the image here.

WELL, the Governor of New York State, Kathy Hochul, is ANGRY.

She just gave a press conference asserting the rights of New York residents, and lambasting Trump and U.S. Transportation Secretary Duffy.

This is amazing. Governor Hochul did not hold back.
The first few minutes of the youtube are blank, waiting for the press conference to start.
She comes on at 5:30.

the USA abandoning Europe, 
 Trump calling Zelenskyy a dictator who caused Ukraine to start a war with Russia,
Trump aligning with Putin and China,
Musk taking over the US government,
massive layoffs of federal employees,
and book bannings in schools.

but still, I enjoyed Governor Huchul's rant.
And she backed it up with legal action to stop Trump.

There are a lot of angry senior citizens at local "town halls" where their Republican congressperson comes to their city to meet with constituents.
I've seen quite a few reports of this.  The citizens are booing at the statements their congresspersons are making.
