We cannot pretend anymore that this is all "business as usual."  Those days were over for us the moment Donald Trump stepped off that escalator at Trump Tower.

I'm not saying that I wish Donald Trump were dead (...okay, maybe I do a little bit, lol...), or that I wish his would-be assassin had been more successful, but I refuse to feign concern for his health and safety, just because that's what human beings have been conditioned to do under these circumstances, regardless of the victim(s)' character.

Like @marceline said, Donald Trump is a threat to the entire world.  Whether he goes by natural causes, or by another assassin' bullet, or somewhere in between, the point is that he GOES.  The sooner, the better, and before he is allowed to cause any more damage than he has already.

Yup.

I get that folks on the left are feeling desperate, because they know what is at stake, should Trump get re-elected.  But I have learned that decisions made out of desperation often are the same decisions that prove the costliest in the end. 

Yes, you might have your reasons for wanting Joe Biden to step down - and yes, those reasons might be valid - but can you honestly tell the rest of us that there's another candidate out there in the field who can defeat Trump as soundly as Biden still could?  Is there anyone out there who has engendered as much support and devotion from the average voter?

Certainly, in this case, the adage is true: when you don't know what to do, do nothing.

But, you know, I'd be lying if I, an African-American, said a part of me isn't fed up with my fellow African-Americans constantly being handed the task of dragging this nation back from the brink.  Especially when White America never learns its' lesson and never thanks us either.

I mean, it really bothers me these days whenever I hear someone say Joe Biden/Hillary Clinton/Barack Obama/whoever was or is just as worse as "The Donald."  Last time I checked, no Left-leaning Supreme Court suggested that the president is immune from criminal prosecution for any illegal acts he committed while in office OR that the government absolutely has a right to control what women are allowed to do with their own bodies.

I think it's Biden's general demeanor along with his age that concerns them - either that or they were just waiting for a chance because of his poll numbers.

Or it might just be down to his being POTUS. Dianne Feinstein was almost completely gone in her last years, reportedly, but she wasn't POTUS so they had more loyalty.

Well, I am glad that reports are coming out tonight that Biden is doubling down by not stepping down. I am so happy Hilary has come out and supported his decision too. 

I really think this is going to blow up in the faces of all these morons b/c Biden is going to stubbornly (and I support it) refuse to step down. It'll please me even more when he wins and they have to go and acknowledge that he knew what he was talking about. 

But I stand firm that this has nothing to do with Biden's age. This has to do with these white elites not wanting Kamala to gain any more traction.

This would probably lead to Kamala being the nominee, so I'm not sure. 

I do hope this lights a fire under Biden, but unfortunately any time he has another interview or we have another debate, the problem resets. However fired up he may be over the war in his party, it doesn't really do anything to help with what he's been losing with the average voter. 

Still, I can't see anyone else winning either, so I guess the best case scenario may be him staying on and hoping for a miracle...and also hoping all those donors and people in the party who have thrown in the towel will at least try to help down ballot candidates.

I think either Biden or Harris can win, but Kamala is a sudden lift and right now Joe has real liabilities too. But he still has the edge. Trump is historically weak. Case in point, tonight's deranged speech.

Thank God it was a poorly received speech. I never listen to him speak because I consider his words poisonous, but so many people are saying it was boring and awful.

 

I think it will give Joe a little more breathing room, like the NATO conference. But short of something miraculous and freakish like oh, last week's assassination attempt I don't think that will last, I think the cake is baked.

But I don't know who it will be; Joe or Kamala. At this moment I don't really care. What matters now to me, whoever the candidate is, is party unity and ending the BTS debacle. Trump got next to no bounce even from an attempt on his life with a perfect photo op seemingly sent by Satan. He delivered another disastrous speech. He has reminded everyone again that he is weak, reduced from his former self and can be taken. We have done it more than once, even without him on the ballot. All that remains is for the party to get its shít together and go do it.
