"OK, here's what needs to happen: NY has to file the money-laundering case they have against Trump. Trump cannot pardon state crimes -- only federal ones. Those charges would be the basis for impeachment. Get Trump as far away from pardon powers as possible, as fast as possible."

Didn't you also suggest this course of action, @marceline?  Regardless, I don't think that's an awful idea.  Because, let's be honest: they're never gonna get him on anything connected to Russia.  If they get Trump at all, it's gonna be over money.

IOW, Trump drew a red line, and Mueller just said, "Boy, bye."

At this point, they could literally steal candy out of babies' hands like Mr. Burns and they wouldn't look as bad as they do now.

Remember Schneiderman the AG in NY hired Preet Bharara and rumor is it's a racketeering case they are working on involving at least Trump's children,

Get ready, folks. It's going down.

"Mueller" is now trending. Also, a few choice tweets containing material from the article above you need to read, including about Trump's legal team spokesman resigning:

I don't believe it. The GOP has shown itself to be utterly corrupt with zero integrity. They've been spitting on the Constitution and this country's well-being for years. Long before Trump. I don't think they are even capable of doing the right thing anymore because the party is rotten to the core.

We'll see. I do think things are reaching a tipping point. While some of the GOP may try to bluster it out if Trump fires Mueller people will hit the streets again if they do, and I think the GOP has demonstrated this year they have no stomach for that.

Hot take of 9:15 AM - Priebus (who's been in the crosshairs for months) is next. That's when we'll see how much the rank and file GOP is willing to tolerate. My bet is both more and less than we all anticipated.

I could agree with some of this but the article fails to take into consideration what China gains domestically as well as regionally.

China is not going to stop trading with North Korea, no matter what  Trump says. As one Republican senator aptly put it, "Nobody's afraid of Trump, not even the White House pages". And since the U.S. has pulled out of the TPP, China's rival trade bloc grows a bit more in esteem.

So maybe from an U.S.-centric perspective, China doesn't gain but that is a slightly myopic view and doesn't give a full picture.

I'm surprised Spicer even lasted that long.

I guess the real question is whether the GOP will push to get Trump out so that their forever friend Mike Pence can be their puppet.
