I'm really sorry guys. I was hoping against hope that Kamala was going to pull off a win somehow and prove me wrong, but for some reason I just couldn't shake off this nagging feeling that this was going to turn out like 2016. 

I guess that's the end of my dream of having a family with my husband (we are a gay married couple). I'm not creating a kid in this world, in the condition that it is. Lately I've been telling him to wait and that I'm leaning towards No, because I don't want to create a life in a world that I don't find myself free and happy and safe. And seeing what is happening in Germany, with the far-right crazies becoming more and more popular and bold... and this tops it OFF.

Maybe that was the end for the dream for us too.

The number of registered Republicans who voted for Trump in 2020 is almost the same as in 2024. While registered Democrats dropped.

SSDD Democrats always believe the GOP has some good people. They insisted those 20 percent of Haley voters would be gettable.  But this should show that never happens. They end up back at the GOP. Their "principles" never allow them to vote for a democrat.

Remember we basically have 2 parties and the GOP has never been an honest or moral broker for as long as I can remember.  They were headed into the dust bin after Romney's loss, so they were easy pickings for a cretin like Trump. Anyway, self care is important. And do what you think is best for your own well being.

Finally stopped crying for now.  Will probably cry again later.  My mother keeps telling me that I shouldn’t be worried, but I am terrified.  She thinks because we live in a blue state that we will be safe.  We’re not.  She thinks that orange thing is not going to do anything.  I told her he has the house, the senate, and the Supreme Court.  No one is going to stop him.  She thinks it’s no big thing.  I wish I can think like that.

And you are right. The platform is toxic, dangerous and shouldn't be promoted in any way or form. They are feeding from people's engagement. And right now... It's a Maga cesspool. I've never had an active profile. Never will.

Thank you so much for this. I teared up reading it. And you also have my biggest support and empathy. We have to get through this somehow. All of us. 

By the way anyone still watching or following the Main Stream Media needs to disconnect.  They are one of the main reasons we are here and deserve NO support - not one of them.  There are reliable journalists out there, but they certainly don't reside in the Beltway or work for the NYT Political Desk
