Someone said there are people on Twitter claiming to have been burned by…wait for it, Biden? So glad I am not on Twitter.

People will try to find any excuse for their racism.

Saw this online this morning, and it speaks VOLUMES:

❝ It's a masterclass in White privilege. He can't say enough racist things to be a racist. He can't commit enough crimes to be a criminal. He can't fail enough times to be a criminal. He can't fail enough times to be a failure. He can't say enough stupid things to be stupid. The idea of him overshadows any reality. The "Christian savior" who doesn't know the Bible, the adulterer who fücks who he wants and steals from charities. It's the promise of the protection of the Whiteness he represents. ❞

I'm really sorry guys. I was hoping against hope that Kamala was going to pull off a win somehow and prove me wrong, but for some reason I just couldn't shake off this nagging feeling that this was going to turn out like 2016.

I guess that's the end of my dream of having a family with my husband (we are a gay married couple). I'm not creating a kid in this world, in the condition that it is. Lately I've been telling him to wait and that I'm leaning towards No, because I don't want to create a life in a world that I don't find myself free and happy and safe. And seeing what is happening in Germany, with the far-right crazies becoming more and more popular and bold... and this tops it OFF.

Maybe that was the end for the dream for us too.

I have been trying to urge people to disassociate from the toxic wasteland but people insist that there is some benefit to engagement. It benefits the right-wing, that’s for certain.

The number of registered Republicans who voted for Trump in 2020 is almost the same as in 2024. While registered Democrats dropped.

SSDD Democrats always believe the GOP has some good people. They insisted those 20 percent of Haley voters would be gettable.  But this should show that never happens. They end up back at the GOP. Their "principles" never allow them to vote for a democrat.

Where were abortion restrictions upheld?

  • In South Dakota, voters rejected a measure that would have permitted abortion in the first three months of pregnancy.
  • In Nebraska, voters enshrined the state’s current 12-week ban in the constitution.
  • In Florida, voters cast their ballots in favor of a measure that would have overturned the state’s ban on abortions after six weeks and would have allowed them up until viability. However, the measure did not reach the 60% threshold and failed.

Where did voters solidify abortion access and reproductive rights?

  • In Montana, where state courts have blocked lawmakers’ efforts to restrict abortion rights, voters wrote abortion protections into the state constitution, codifying the right to an abortion up to viability. Though there’s no defined time frame, doctors say viability is sometime after 21 weeks. The constitutional amendment is meant to safeguard against future efforts to restrict abortion rights.
  • Colorado, Nevada and Maryland already had laws on the books protecting abortion access, but voters there backed measures to enshrine the right in their state constitutions.
  • New York voters backed a reproductive rights measure that would bar unequal treatment based on “pregnancy outcomes” and “reproductive healthcare and autonomy,” along with sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin and disability.

Where were abortion rights expanded?

  • Missouri voters overturned one of the nation’s strictest abortion bans, backing a constitutional amendment that protects abortion rights at all stages until the fetus is considered viable — usually considered after 21 weeks, although there’s no exact time frame.
  • Voters in Arizona, which had a ban on abortion after 15 weeks, backed a state constitutional amendment that will also protect the right to an abortion up to viability.

Take care of yourself. Hopefully over the next several days the two of you will be in a better place. Germany, I hope of all places, remembers.  And you have a different system than we do. Remember we basically have 2 parties and the GOP has never been an honest or moral broker for as long as I can remember.  They were headed into the dust bin after Romney's loss, so they were easy pickings for a cretin like Trump. Anyway, self care is important. And do what you think is best for your own well being.

Finally stopped crying for now.  Will probably cry again later.  My mother keeps telling me that I shouldn’t be worried, but I am terrified.  She thinks because we live in a blue state that we will be safe.  We’re not.  She thinks that orange thing is not going to do anything.  I told her he has the house, the senate, and the Supreme Court.  No one is going to stop him.  She thinks it’s no big thing.  I wish I can think like that.

And you are right. The platform is toxic, dangerous and shouldn't be promoted in any way or form. They are feeding from people's engagement. And right now... It's a Maga cesspool. I've never had an active profile. Never will.

Thank you so much for this. I teared up reading it. And you also have my biggest support and empathy. We have to get through this somehow. All of us. Ghost Hug GIF

By the way anyone still watching or following the Main Stream Media needs to disconnect.  They are one of the main reasons we are here and deserve NO support - not one of them.  There are reliable journalists out there, but they certainly don't reside in the Beltway or work for the NYT Political Desk

Ain't that the truth! I am going to do this from today on. Complete disconnect.
