Really? Eric, I am loving the Tess/Jess/Bess cage scenes! Very psychological and interesting. Believe me, they did not have to take the time to show us Jessica's inner struggles - they could just have Tess and Bess pop out like they usually do. I think it's cool that they are attempting to show us how and why the alters feel the need to take control at certain times. You are right - it is decidedly NOT like the 1995 alter storyline. This is different. Different is good! :P As far as the production values: Cheap? I think the way they are showing what is going on outside of Jess' mind and the memories of Nash and Bree on the shards of shattered (get it?) glass is innovative. Hmmm....let's agree to disagree on these things!

I admiot they are compelling in a gothic way but it's taking the show in a direction (that the imaginary alter drinking real wine and delivering a baby already started) that I find uses fantasy at the expense of psychology. What I meant by cheap is I think this stuff can be covered better with good writing, dialogue and acting. I get why you enjoy it but to me, it feels like a cheap way of showing the turmoil and making it into a cartoon.

I think the more they diverge from simply "retelling" the old DID story the better off we are. It's good to see them depart from the norm. I thought it was creative and interesting. I don't particularly want to do this routine everytime an alter emerges, but as a one shot deal I liked it.

I liked the cage concept. It was an entertaining way to show how splintered her mind is. I liked the memories in the shattered glass, and the screen with the real life happening. I LOVED Viki slapping Tess. It shocked me but I had to immediately rewind. It's been a long time coming...

I'm another one who finds the use of the Reflections of a Fractured Mind cage set to be quite clever. It perfectly meshes with the concept that when a gatekeeper/alter gets loose, their plot of choice is to cage up their victim in a secret room. They spend so much time locked up, that, of course, would be the worst punishment to them.

The way they handled everything so that the images of Nash and TJess with the baby flickered on the tiny piece of glass just as Jessica spoke to Bess was perfect.

It could've easily looked horrible, even if they had just filmed that set differently, or if the dialogue had not been good. But it all clicked for me.

    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
