loved how Dina put Skanky Sharon in her place....almost as good as that comment Ashley made a couple of months ago about Sharon's decorating taste!!!!

still don't think MAB is doing that great of a job.....after this weeks #'s come out...personally the whole Paris thing was a bust....

WORD.

She's the whole reason I started watching Y&R. She has a certain screen presense that only few people have.

I heard that Bill Bell saw her brief stint on Santa Barbara and knew she was being written out of that show soon, and he creted the role of Nina especially for her. Bless him...

And I do agree with someone else above, I do think Bill Bell would've been very proud of today's epsiode and the overall state of the show right now, for the most part.

The reason I found today to be so perfect was because a good soap is supposed to keep you hooked with stories even if your favorite story isn't pleasing you at the moment. I hated the Sharon and Nick scenes. Phyllis in pain wrecks me. But everything was do damn wonderful, I didn't much care as much. To me, that is what a good soap needs to do to keep viewers. No one couple makes or breaks a show but you have to make me care about more stories on the show in order to make me forget the characters I can barely stomach. Today, my soap did just that. Bravo!

I couldn't agree more. Even though the show has been steadily improving since July, this past week has just been classic Y&R from the first scene on Monday to the last scene today. I hope we can continue to get weeks this great. :)

IMHO, between the David Chow/Sabrina story and now Katherine's "death", MTS deserves an Emmy. She has been so good and has made me feel everything that "Nikki" is going through these last few months.

I was never a fan of Jess Walton, but I've been converted over the last 3 days.

I don't know if what we're seeing is due to Paul Rauch, Maria Bell or Hogan Sheffer - or (what I'm starting to believe) a group effort between the three. It appears that everyone has come to an agreement that the classic Y&R should be revived. If so, they're kickin some ass in doing so.

And Janice Ferri Esser did an awesome job with the scripts this past week....

MTS absolutely deserves an Emmy. This year has been her best ever.

Regarding your conversion to Jess Walton fandom: Welcome, it's taken much too long!

I think it's a big group effort. MAB and HS (and SH) didn't do this alone, a bit of PR and WHAM! It's fabulous.

And Janice Ferri Esser is a Y&R God as far as I'm concerned. She has my undying gratitude for keeping the details together!

IA, Daytimefan. JFE has done an outstanding job in creating new scripts that reference the history of the show. How great is she? While I still love Paula Cwikly, I think JFE has just replaced her as my fave script writer. :D

I don't know why I haven't seen the brillance of Jess Walton until this week, but I have now seen the light!!!

    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
    • Well, depending on rewrites...Jennifer Richards potentially slept with Brandon and Alan. It does feel like we're forgetting someone, but then again, maybe I'm confusing that with brothers, which would include a lot more.
    • Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.
    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
    • I just finished watching and I have to admit, not once did I find myself wondering who wasn't there. Quick question for anyone who followed this better than I did: was it only Andrew who rescued Cat and John from Clyde, or was Shane involved too? The reactions during their scenes today felt a little off to me. I know it was meant to be vague, but I didn't find it strange that they already knew each other.
    • Yeah, financially, Luna is in better shape than Deacon and Sheila.   -- Scott Clifton must have decided to chew the scenery in every scene of this "Liam is Dying" storyline. Yikes.
    • If J.R. wasn't busy with Ewing Oil, he'd be a heckuva soap recapper. He was SO gleeful at recapping Jenna-Bobby-Pam when the trio and Mark encountered each other at the Oil Baron's Ball. That being said, Lucy, presumably Sue Ellen and maybe Ray should all know this story, or at least part of it. Lucy was definitely at Southfork during Jenna and Bobby's relationship, and I believe Sue Ellen was about to marry J.R. around the time Jenna jilted Bobby. (Ray might not have given a damn.)
