Looks like GH had a good week. It will probably be back at $3. AMC went back down. I guess people didnt stay tuned in to AMC.

LOL AMC is reaping what it has sewn, you DESERVE bad ratings for bad writing

looks like AMC is headed back to its pre-Tornado territory.

Not surprised, stunts like this usually have no long term effects on ratings, and with the bad writing, they're lucky they didn't lose even more viewers

I thought everyone was raving about AMC's writing recently-

I knew the stunt would not pay off...

It was GH style "event" that will be perfect for emmy consideration...

The ratings don't matter one bit to me as far as AMC. I am enjoying the show for the first time since - well it has been so long I forgot. That is all that matters to me.

And the writing is better. Stunts always bring in a few viewers that don't stick. It even brings in viewers these days who quit their regular show just to check out the stunt. They never stay.

I know of many people who are back and I know many people on many different boards who are loving AMC again. In fact just about the only people that I know who are not liking AMC right now are the couple fan bases. It is the same people who are not liking Days right now too for the most part. I hear more general fans who are in love with Days and AMC right now.

AMC for the first time in a long time is not about just one couple and is not just about 6 or 7 people. It is more like old Agnes Nixon AMC than it has been in a long time.

Ratings don't go up overnight - that just don't happen anymore. And ratings are never a clarification of quality. The truth for AMC will come in the coming months not by this stunt.

Just like the last few weeks have finally seen a rise for OLTL. Good consistent writing pays off in the long run and not in the short term. You don't alienate the fans of a show and expect them to come back and trust you overnight. That takes time. They have to learn to trust again.

I've learned that even if a select group of people "rave" about things online, there's no accounting for everyone's tastes.

Perfect examples: Jeffrey/Reva fans, Liar Webber and Jason Moron fans, fans of OLTL and Ron C.'s writings.

I'm also enjoying AMC. I wonder what the actual numbers will be. Hope it goes back up next week. I'm disappointed we didn't keep more folks post 'event'.

[quote name='Y&RWorldTurner' date=and looks like AMC is headed back to its pre-Tornado territory.

What does that mean?

I would like to see it go up but I doubt that it will. All that matters to me as I said is I am enjoying it. I am actually finding enjoyment watching Zendell who I ahve never been able to stand before. As much as I hate Zach right now I can see the love between him and Kendall and for me to say that says alot because I still think they are one of the worst couples ever to grace daytime.

I am really loving Pratt's Erica Kane. She is more like Erica than she has been in a longgggggggggggggggggg time.

One thing I forgot to say before is that AMC feels like a community again. That has been missing from AMC for a long time.

It is not perfect. Ruth needs to be there but that is a problem that has not been addressed for a long time. It is time for AMC to either pee or get off the pot and do something with Ruth. All the excuses for her not being there are stupid.

I have sat through and enjoyed many a show through the years with bad ratings. Many times they were better quality shows than the ones on top. Ratings are not a measure of quality. I said that when people were using them to say Ron C. was a bad writer. Many great writers have produced quality shows that never got good ratings.

AMC's ratings are not going to sky rocket or level out overnight. It will take many months of consistency before you see a rise that sticks. People may tune in sporadically for awhile and once they feel that they can trust the show again they will stay but not until that point comes will you get them to stay.

[quote name='Y&RWorldTurner' date=and looks like AMC is headed back to its pre-Tornado territory.

What does that mean?

Meaning, it looks like the bump AMC got for the tornado died down and the show is headed back to where it was before the tornado.

But that's to be expected with these stunts, they never have any long-term impact on the ratings.
