I am really sorry.

But Kristen was TERRIBLE today.

She is out of her league.

She is a VERY, VERY, VERY lucky girl having a front burner leading role on a soap, all things considered....

If I was OLTL's Exec Producer, well let's be real, if I were Brian Frons, I would overhaul OLTL's ENTIRE under 32 crowd- including Bree's "hitcha wit a sledgehammer" acting style, David Fumero, Kristen, Gigi, the dude who play's Gigi's son, of course recast Sarah (see ya Justice!). I find Melissa Archer terrible as well.

They need some younger actors on par with the adults.

If wishes were horses . . .

I think they're on a par with actors of the same age group on other soaps. I don't think Rebecca Buddig, or Alicia Minshew or any other performer on any ABC soap is Meryl Streep. I do think some of the talent on CBS is superior. But they're (MA, Bree, et al) not going anywhere so I don't understand how you can continue to watch or enjoy the show if you think they're so terrible.

Who in that age group on any soap do you think is so extraordinary?

LOL! And I love you back. I always use her for some unknown reason, and even I don't think she's that great. Maybe Cate Blanchett would be better?

And I totally agree that these performers work under constraints unheard of in any other medium. It's great that they make their characters live day after day and "own" them, because they sure don't get to have long rehearsals with a director and multiple takes to get it right.

If I thought the "talent" was so much greater on another soap, I'd probably be watching that one.

I am not talking about other shows I am talking about OLTL. And their younger cast SUCKS.

They need coaches. To have an actress of Kristen's "caliber" carrying a HUGE storyline requires a certain level of talent. This is just my opinion.

Today, I cringed at her performance. I don't cringe while watching Y&R (with the exception of that Australian chick).. I continuously cringe when watching OLTL.

And the majority of the younger casts on Y&R, ATWT, and GH are far superior to OLTL's.

Archer is shrill and one note, Bree is the same. David Fumero?

OLTL is my all time favorite soap, I watch it out of a sense of sentimentality, not because I particularly enjoy it most of the time.

As for the adults? I feel the cast is one of the best, along with Y&R and GH.

I miss the days when shows had younger talents like Jennifer Finnigan on B&B. That girl knew how to act.

I am almost 33 so maybe I am getting old and cranky.

LOL! You're a babe! Far too young to be getting old and cranky. Again, I only watch what I enjoy. I have no idea who Jennifer Finnigan is. I've recently begun watching GH and I don't find their "under 30's" to be such stellar talents. I guess I would say all the performers are "spotty". I find the same to be true on other soaps. It's just subjective. But as I've proven time and again, when it begins to make me cringe, I watch something else. There are too many alternatives these days to put myself through such torture.

    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
