SoapNet Total Viewers

Y&R: 642,000

AMC: 461,000

GH: 442,000

OLTL: 417,000

Using the Averages for the week October 6-10 and October 13-17:

Y&R: 4,784,000

GH: 2,764,000

OLTL: 2,570,000

AMC: 2,468,000

Now adding the daytime ratings with SoapNet's:

Y&R: 5,426,000

GH: 3,206,000

OLTL: 2,987,000

AMC: 2,929,000

No wonder daytime's ratings are shrinking.....they're watching on SoapNet (......and the internet). ;)

I don't really understand what this press release says about anything, to be perfectly honest.

They're not really talking about orginal series, just the re-airings of ABC's soaps. NS was left off, and we know it didn't do very well. So it's not like this press release means they can green-light more projects, or give more money to their ABC shows (since the money goes to Soapnet, not ABCD. So what exactly does this gain them, other than slightly more money in advertising revenue?

Maybe they'll bring the marathon back or maybe they'll just assume it's because Y&R is leading them off. Is Y&R that good, it seems the ABC soaps that follow it are benefiting from it's record numbers, or has SoapNet just been added to more cable systems?

Alvin/Toups,

Back when I was trying to get access to the Ratings for my site. I talked with a girl at Nielsen a lot. That was when they moved Days from 7:00 to late night - swapping with Y&R. And had just changed the marathon.

This is what she told me when I asked what she knew about that.

She said that in the 7:00 P.M. time slot Days was tanking. She said that the first week Y&R took over that they got double the ratings Days did in the same time slot. And that Days was getting half of what Y&R got in the timeslot following GH.

She said that the Sunday night stuff was getting higher ratings than Days could pull so they moved the marathon to late. She said that SoapNet was obligated to contract to air Days in a marathon. She felt that it was the only reason Days still had a marathon at all.

Now that was a year ago. I do know that I emailed her a few months back to ask a question, and she said that the movies on Sunday night were still doing better than anything they have ever aired on Sunday night but they were not doing that great.

    • There's been something of a media blackout, but beyond that the only reason it's getting any attention is because Trump and the Republicans and their sycophants in the press are trying to create riots to pave the way for martial law.  And of course all the people who care more about setting fires and destroying property than anything else are happy to help them.  I've seen more interest in people arguing about whether or not they should be waving Mexican flags and how American flags are tainted than I have in the cause, which just reinforces what a malaise we are in. Many who claim to care about immigration only care to the tips of their fingers, just like Palestine and the rest. But these policies what people voted for. As long as they personally aren't affected, they are eating all this decimation up.
    • I was happy to see Caroline again even in one short scene. This was her first appearance since April 3. I was wondering why we haven't seen her, since Hayley desperately needs a talk-to aside from Bill.  I am also wondering where Jacob's partner is. Does Marcel have an opinion on Jacob spending so much time on the Laura case? Especially since Marcel warned Jacob about allowing his family to get in the way of police business. I liked seeing some vulnerability from Leslie today when she begged Eva to give her the helmet and gloves back. I'm still wondering how she will get out of the corner she has been written into. When we were first introduced to Leslie, she seemed like she might be a Machiavelli but since then it's clear that she more of a haphazard villainess doesn't seem to have a long term plan aside from causing random chaos.  Chelsea's desperation is cringeworthy but I actually think it's fairly realistic for someone who is closeted or newly out.
    • Not to mention Leslie has made a formal complaint and requested a restraining order so there is a trail of her acknowledging that Kat is doing the most and basically harassing her. I bet that bites her in the butt   It truly is. Chelsea is 23 and doc has to be at least 30. She has too much to lose so I don't see why she'd even bother considering an immature social media girl thats already showing signs of acting unstable. She knows who she is so she knows all the mess surrounding her such as filming her mother shooting a gun at a wedding, not to mention the recent drama with her WORK colleagues, Ted and Niicole. Madison needs to not get involved with a daughter from that family. It just reeks o mess that could impact her professionally
    • I'm really sure now that Leslie is going to skate on the charges now that Kat stupidly broke in and planted the evidence. At this point Jacob probably won't even being able to tie that helmet and gloves back to Leslie because it's been moved around too much.
    • Seriously Drew is scum. Does he actually even love Willow or does he just like having someone he can control?!
    • Having them interact so much now has been such a treat. My new favorite duo. The desperation is such a turn off.
