I've not heard this, but it sounds intriguing.

Phoebe Buffay--Phoebe Tyler Wallingford

Ross Gellar--Ross was a character related to Palmer and Adam, Gellar=Sarah Michelle?

Monica Gellar--can't figure this one out

Chandler Bing--Obviously the Chandlers are a big family on AMC

Joey Tribbiani--no connection here either, other than Jake used to be Joey

Rachel Greene--Janet Green?

Help. :P

Yeah, but they still managed to make that episode when Joey tried out for the role of Nick the boxer while he was teaching acting. Hilarious!

And then when he was fired from DAYS, Gunther told him he got killed off of AMC.

The A&E Bio on AMC I believe said that the creators of Friends were huge AMC fans and did it on purpose

"I know that the creators of FRIENDS were big AMC fans. They even wanted Joey to get his soap acting job on AMC but NBC wouldn't allow them to use a rival network soap like they used DAYS. "

I remember someone on here said once that if they had made him go on AW (which actually filmed in New York so woulda made sense) it woulda become so popular it would have never been canceled LOL

I don't think Friends caused this huge amount of additional viewers of popularity for DAYS so I don't think it would of helped AW.

I was thinking that the same Monica could of been chosen because it you combined two characters from AMC - Mona and Erica you get Monica.

Interesting, Mona+Erica=Monica. I was thinking maybe that was their one GH reference.

I don't think Joey being on either soap would have helped with ratings, but for the sake of accuracy, it would have been nice to see him on Another World. At least AW got a shout out on The Golden Girls. :P

The main characters from the show Friends are named after All My Children characters.

Ross for Ross Chandler

Joey for Joey Martin

Chandler for the Chandler family

Monica for Monique/Daisy Cortland

Rachel (Karen) Green for Janet "from another planet" Green

Phoebe for Phoebe Tyler Wallingford

In an episode of Friends Joey auditions for the part of a boxer on All My Children.

Season 2 episode 19 of Friends, the character Gunther claims to have played Bryce on All My Children.

In another episode of Friends, Monica and Chandler become friends with a couple named Greg and Jenny.

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
