There are plenty of more intelligent Republican women out there. What really annoys me about Elisabeth is her refusal to admit when her candidates are wrong, whether its Bush, McCain or Palin. She talks over the other women so often that I can't watch the View because I want someone to just smack her!

Whoopi has defended John McCain in many instances. She's called out Obama when he's been wrong on points. Out of all them, Whoopi and Sheri are really the only ones who try to have an objective opinion on both sides. Joy is extreme on her thought, Elisabeth is extreme on hers.

It seems like they gang up on Elisabeth, but in fact, they aren't. Elisabeth lies. She puts on false information and there are MANY times when Whoopi could/should have corrected her but didn't in order to not have an argument.

Elisabeth is a dangerous woman. She scares me (as does Joy, though her statements are usually backed up with truthful fact)

IA. Sherri, Whoopi and Barbera all try and be objective and open minded when it comes to the issues and Elizabeth. Im all for differing opinions but if you are going to be on tv and express those opinions defend them and back them up. She doesnt. THere have been numerous times when they have asked her the same and tried to give her a chance to talk about her opinions but when asked a direct question, she almsot always retaliates by insulting the other side and/or throwing back the question at hte girls without answering it first. Thats what bugs me about her. She is a hypocrite and defends McCain/Palin to the death and calls them out on thins but when the same is done in reverse, she has a fit. She simply can not debate her views intelligently and it shows. I hate that she blindly follows everything Republican and even when they are clearly wrong, she has to find a way to defend and excuse their actions. She cant take a step back and admit fault and that scares me how much of a sheep she is

I think Joy Behar can be extreme at times but she will back off when someone brings up a point that she didn't consider. And for the most part there does seem to be some logic at work even if a person might not agree with her. Elizabeth Hasselback gets stuck on a specific thing and seems to think repeating it every day is a good thing, despite the fact that it always leads to the same argument.

I don't have an issue with her having her own opinion and expressing it but I don't see the benefit in her initiating the same argument about Ayers almost every show. BW made a request for none of them to sling mud and EH totally blew her off. She could have taken a more respectful approach to making her point with BW.

EH is the most persistent person on that show when she has a bone and unfortunately it takes all of the others to halfway make a dent which makes it seem as though they are ganging up on her.

I don't see the issue as having to balance the viewpoints because if you're having a debate or discussion with open minded people then each person will respect another person's viewpoint. EH is close minded when it comes to politics and some other issues and therein lies the problem. And she's unprofessional since she took information she got in her capacity as a co-host of the show about Michele Obama, and mentioned it while speaking at the GOP Convention. Had she repeated something that aired on the show, I wouldn't think that of her.

I think thats what the network is thinking too. 95% of all the fights on that show center around her. Its a shame, but people like to see drama and controvery and those women fighting so much lately is probably why the ratings have been up. Elizabeth is the cause of most of it. I hate her but I have to admit, I do watch to see it all unfold. It gives us something to write about on here.

All the View needs now is some controversal female celebrity with strong political goals before the election. Wheres Margaret Cho, Sandra Bernhardt or Kathy Griffin when you need them

    • Trump and Netanyahu are giving "Let them eat cake".  And it's horrific. In 2013, Pope Francis removed a bishop from running the Limburg Germany diocese because he was constructing an opulent 31-million-euro building. Pope Francis stood up for the poor, the unhoused, the migrants of all faiths.  He lived simply and ordered that when he died, that he wished to be interred in a simple wooden coffin. I sincerely hope that the new pope Leo will follow Francis' example.
    • Co Sign!!!!   I have been watching the show regularly over the last few weeks and am pleasantly surprised by how much easier it is to watch each day. This definitely is confirmation for me that Paula and Jeanne wrote the stroke episodes, cause I felt the same way watching those. Could be more exciting for sure, but interactions now make more sense and everything seems to be a bit more character driven which is great. I will add though, there are still about 10 or so characters i'd love to see gone, and hope a few will exit in the future! Otherwise, happy with the changes so far.

    • There is suffering everywhere you look, says mother of emaciated baby girl trapped in Gaza https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czrv5rl73zdo Quoting excerpts from BBC article: The baby's mother Najwa, 23, is changing Siwar's nappy. She weighs just over 2kg (4lb 6oz). A baby girl of five months should be around or over 6kg. "There was no food when I gave birth to her," says Najwa. "If I wanted to feed myself so I could breastfeed her, I had no nutrients to make my health better... She now only drinks formula milk, and we don't know how we'll be able to provide it for her." Israel has banned international journalists from entering Gaza to report independently. According to Siwar's doctor, Ziad al-Majaida, "Nothing enters through the borders, no milk, food or anything. This leads to big problems here for the kids. This baby needs a specific type of milk. It was available before, but because of the border closure, the stocks have run out for a while now." Since the beginning of the year, according to the UN, about 10,000 cases of acute malnutrition among children have been identified. Food prices have rocketed by as much as 1,400%. Charity kitchens, which have helped hundreds of thousands of Gazans, are shutting as food supplies run out. Twenty-five bakeries supported by the World Food Programme have been forced to close. Israel cut off all humanitarian aid and other supplies from entering Gaza on 2 March, and resumed its military offensive two weeks later The United Nations has said the Israeli blockade constitutes "a cruel collective punishment" on civilians. The UN's humanitarian director, former British diplomat Tom Fletcher, said that international law was unequivocal. "As the occupying power, Israel must allow humanitarian support in... Aid, and the civilian lives it saves, should never be a bargaining chip," he warned. From the BBC reporter: I put this point to Boaz Bismuth, a leading member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party. He (Bismuth) denies there is an aid crisis caused by the blockade. "There is food in Gaza... Israel wouldn't do such a restriction if the population didn't have food. I mean, I know my country perfectly well," he (Bismuth) said. BBC reporter: I put it to Bismuth that he was denying the evidence of people's eyes, that children were starving. "There are not starving children. I repeat again." He (Bismuth) said that there had been allegations months ago of famine, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza "which was crap". ----  ----  ---- A UK-based advocacy group for Israel has the nerve to claim war may reduce obesity in Gaza https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/may/10/uk-lawyers-for-israel-condemned-over-claim-war-may-reduce-obesity-in-gaza
    • Joel Crothers would have been perfect as Owen (maybe because Margo wasn't too far off Denise). A shame he couldn't have played a dual role. Eliot did have more room to grow. I wonder if whatever allegedly happened with Denny Albee played a part in both their exits.

    • I remember Evie's last scene and it was in Justin Marler's house and she is telling them that Ben is asking for a reconciliation and she is going to join him. I always have wondered what Janet Grey did after leaving Guiding Light (I know from the interview with Kathleen Cullen that she did have a baby and they stayed in touch for awhile).
    • https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/may/11/trump-accept-luxury-plane-gift-qatar Donald Trump is reportedly ready to accept a luxury plane described to be a “palace in the sky” being offered to the US president as a gift from Qatar’s royal family, almost immediately igniting accusations of bribery and corruption as well as commensurate criticism. citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, ABC reported (link) that the Trump administration was preparing to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8, a jumbo jet from the Qatari royals that was estimated to be about $400m. Trump would then use the 13-year-old plane as the new Air Force One until shortly before the conclusion of his second Oval Office stint, at which point it would be transferred to his presidential library foundation no later than 1 January 2029. The luxury gift from Qatar is expected to be announced next week during Trump’s three-day tour of the Middle East that includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, ABC reported. Trump toured the opulent plane in February while it was parked at the West Palm Beach international airport, ABC added. According to ABC’s sources, Trump’s attorney general Pam Bondi and his top White House lawyer David Warrington have pre-emptively concluded that it is “legally permissible” for Trump to accept the luxury gift and then transfer it over to his presidential library.
