I'm still up to my ears in this petition to get NATAS to award Beverlee McKinsey a Posthumous Lifetime Achievement Emmy. They have awarded Posthumous ones so there is a precedent for it. Plus an author is working on a bio as we speak so there's a sense of a lot going on. I'm asking everyone to sign it & I'm asking many people to post supporting & to share it. In my YouTube channel is her "City Lights" interview and 3 video clips from early TEXAS & those are in the petition as well as one of the classic Alexandra episodes from GL. We now have 412 signatures & we've had 14 people donate & I'm thanking Kim Wells AW group on FB, Greg Meng, Thaoo Penghliss, Kin Shriner, Kimberly Simms, Kim Zimmer, Jill Lorie Hurst, Nancy Williams Watt, Judi Evans, Mark Derwin & Alan Locher. The text is a nice read even if I say so myself. https://chng.it/JBsh8Y9tkk Thank you for your time & for your consideration.

Yes, although Berkley Harris may have appeared on the show before his actual marriage to Ms. McKenzie.

He then appeared on How to Survive a Marriage.

I looked him up, and I had not realized that he played Dr. Joe Werner on The Guiding Light.    Maybe it was a as a traditional temporary replacement, or maybe he played some scenes after the death of Ed Zimmerman and before Anthony Call began in the role.

I wonder how Berkley Harris would have been had he been coast as Mayor Brian Bancroft on Another World.

@danfling @Donna L. Bridges There is in fact at least one episode of Miss Beverlee in LIAMST that has been shared online. I, and many others, watched it on WoST some years ago. She was vacuuming and telling her son Billy to eat his peas, before getting a visit from her ex-husband (?) played by Albert Stratton. It's been a long time, anyone please feel free to straighten out the details.

Scott had one & I posted it in the inert LIAMST discussion thread. Her real life husband is in it also.

Not for the first time I wish that WOST had been archived!!! It is strictly from an interview some WOSTer did at an awards ceremony with Pete Lemay that we learned that it was Fred Silverman who had that cockamamie idea! You know to take AW to a 90 minute show. 2006 I believe, audio only, up on YT.

Yes, that's it. I think it is quite good. I think I've read every interview he ever gave. Plus, a friend talked to him near the end of his life. He spent an afternoon & on into evening & they walked from Pete's apartment to a restaurant & had supper. Pete signed a book for him & they got their picture taken together & they just talked & talked. The big takeaway was that Pete was bitter about one thing & that is that P&G screwed him over so badly about the proposed Michael Randolph gay storyline & how P&G did it. What they did is typical corporate dirty tricks. He was dragging his feet on signing a new contract. He wanted to do this story. They greenlit it. The show cast - with great care & attention. The actor had been fully informed about the story, etc. & all was in readiness. We know what the first scene would have been & then what the second scene would have been & so forth. So, Pete signed that contract. And, as soon as he did, they withdrew the greenlight for the story. Imagine if AW had done a gay storyline in the late 70s! Imagine that corporations treat creative types like that.

Hey, I know some TEXAS! true trivia! Patrick Mulcahey told me that the whole writing team for TEXAS was hired & assembled & on contract & they had no writing for them yet. So, they put them to work writing on AW! But, somehow they slipped through the cracks & they don't have writing credits for the work & they can't get anyone to fix it so it's a bit of frustration. Although he went on at some length about how wrong both his IMDb page & wikipedia page are!! He said he tried to work with them to fix them but it was impossible.

I recently corrected one item on Beverlee's IMDb page & I can imagine how hard various entries would be. One pass they said it didn't make sense to them. Next pass I said much more & they said I exceeded the number of words. Third pass I got through! In between I talked to one of them in email & I frankly think that is what made the difference!

I don't know, but for what it's worth I scanned the synopses available on the AWHP and I see that at one point Joel mentioned that his father died one year ago. I was also trying to understand who Mavis was supposed to be since there is a part where Lurlene has to pretend to be more upper class than she is to impress Mavis. Is Mavis a relation of Joel's?

    • BC played Jeffrey O'Neill, her last husband- the ninth.   Yes, April Fools Day 2009 is a date that will live in infamy for GL fans but I feel we all kinda expected it at that point.  The soap press reported that GA's return as Phillip was basically the show's final chance at getting the ratings up.  A Hail Mary if you will.  It didn't extend the show's life but it was fantastic to see Phillip back in SF where he belonged.
    • I think Alexa Havins has been polarizing. A large segment of fans love her and what she's done with the role, while others say she's a good actor but they hate the way Lulu is written -- as someone who interferes and is a harpy. I personally think she's been a terrific recast.
    • The perfect camp. And maybe it's regional? I don't recall seeing a "sponsored in part by..." tag during today's end credits, either, which is usually when I see the commercials.
    • Totally agree on TMG - perfect daytime camp. I always get Febreeze commercials, and did today. I wonder why you're not, that's odd.
    • Dipping my toes back in, and Leslie continues to be THE star. Girl has brought the same energy since day one. Anita has become tons more interesting when played with her former groupmates. Kat is such a massive disappointment. I can’t stand her.
    • this was a great episode. Leslie with Jacob was lol as were the scenes with Jacob/Kat.  I like that Eva is vulnerable at times. Makes it easier to like her. The writers need to do this with Dani more. (and Leslie). The Anita scenes were also well done.  Big credit to the writers today!

date: Thursday, June 5 | Christopher Dunn, Judy Tate | Michael V. Pomarico I love the way Vernon just observes Anita and knows exactly what's on her mind and yet still allows her to explain her way out of it all. He knows his wife. LAURA IS BACK AT WORK! I am very, very happy for you, and I love that Katherine, Mona, and Nicole are there to warmly welcome her back. It's been months! Uh-oh, Ms Dana, here comes the PD to raid your ass; I just wish Eva hadn't moved the helmet and gloves, because she could be caught NOW! Sharon continues to show how absolutely ugly she is with her nasty, distasteful attitude. Shame on her. Absolute shame. Dante Greene is the devil; a truly deplorable human being who clearly felt he could walk over someone without a care by luring the other three Articulettes with him via Anita. I admire that Anita is fully aware of things right now; she's considering everything: the positive and the negative. And with Vernon's support and wisdom, she's got this locked in. Oh, more backstory! There was a hiatus to mourn Barbara, and Anita did not come back. I hate to say it, but that does happen in real life. Choice to take a break, for whatever reasons, and you don't come back together. We've seen it before. I like how humble Eva is with her position at the salon and where she came from, especially in beginning as Nicole's assistant. I appreciate that Laura is struggling to transition back into her work space and that she's re-adjusting, with everyone giving her the grace she needs. I love that Jacob is not backing down to Dana and her attempts to "woo" him. YES ANITA! STAND UP FOR YOURSELF! Vernon saw what was coming and said, "I'm going to safety! This is for the women, not me," and he yeeted himself out of there. Katherine should have an office and a badge at this point; she's more than earned it. Oh, there is a slight flirt in Nicole's eye who is enjoying the continued run-ins with Ted; she's in love with him. And that isn't changing. Go on, Anita! You fight for yourself, girl! Speak the TRUTH! Oh, look, Eva and Laura. This is interesting. Very, very interesting. Notes: Febreze and no commercial; maybe it's only Tide that garners the commercials right now? Trisha Mann-Grant (Dana) continues to serve camp, but it's camp done right. It's not a comedy or a mockery; it's pure daytime camp. I wonder who they'll cast as Dante Greene if the role comes onto the scene. I appreciate them bracing the subject matter of suicide in a way that does not come off as... cliche or in poor taste. Tamara Tunie (Anita) is continuing to show up! I love this for her. A true matriarch and legend!

I love Leslie's nicknames for everyone.  Speaking of, is she going by Leslie or Dana because Ted keeps calling her Dana now. That was a nice scene between Eva and Laura.
    • Agree with this completely. Definitely more sympathetic and fatherly, and there's strong chemistry with Nicole.
    • I agree with this. Damn, Anita giving the girls a reading now today - I'm getting whiplash! Haha, but this is pretty normal in arguments.
