September 17, 200817 yr Member I hope they don't use this to write him off... I like him well enough that I hope they don't use it as an excuse to write him out. Instead they should have him pay deeply and then work towards a storyline of redemption. Edited to add that Paul and anyone he can get on his side should get together and beat the BASTARD to a bloody pulp!! If they want pointers on this storyline they should buy Buffy season 2-final and do their writing homework!!! Edited September 17, 200817 yr by BadZoe
September 17, 200817 yr Member I agree. She is the child of an abusive household (stepfather) with father absence. He has said to her once that he didn't care how she felt...his needs were paramount. Then, with the letter-from-Victor, he grabbed her. I DO NOT want it to go this way...but if they show him as an abuser AND THEN HAVE HIM GO THROUGH EARNEST RECOVERY...that would be a place daytime has never really gone before. But I don't want to see this He's already got pretty pushy with her and stuff over Victors letter!

It would be pretty cool if that karen chick keicked his butt!
September 17, 200817 yr Member It kills the character for me. It now puts him in a corner that I, personally, will always think of him in. Now he'll just be The Abuser, no matter what he does. I wish Y&R would not have went down this road. ITA, this is pure character assassination.
September 17, 200817 yr Member ITA, this is pure character assassination. How is this character assassination when we don't fully know the character? We don't know how his relationships were while he was in college and while he lived in New York. Now if Nick became an abuser then that would be character assassination because that's something he's never done before. But the hints have been dropped with Adam and he's gotten kinda rough with Heather before.

This may sound shallow, but I think the actor can handle it...He's goodlooking and has the assertion necessary to sell a reformation...Look at Michael Baldwin- he was a creep, but once he said he was sorry, many believed him. I don't think it will be long before he's the next Kevin Fischer, finding love in unexpected places.

I don't think it will be long before he's the next Kevin Fischer, finding love in unexpected places. But Chris Engen is no Cristian LeBlanc. I can't say he has ever made me feel sorry for Adam. In fact, the only reason I root for him is because I can't stand the other Newman brats ganging up on him. I doubt I'll be able to except Adam again should this rumor turn out to be true.
September 17, 200817 yr Author Member IF this is happening, there's definitely been a good set-up for it. I wouldn't mind it at all. Some of you act as if Adam and Heather are a core couple of something. They have chemistry, but they don't have a long and complicated history. The only thing is, Vail Bloom is an incredibly weak actress, and so is Chris Engen (though he's better than her IMO). I shutter to think how she'd handle the really gritty and emotional scenes from a storyline like this. That's true. But I still love them together.
September 17, 200817 yr Member Hmm.. I love Adam because I see him as a bad guy. So I don't mind this happening. I will just continue to love to hate him. But it wouldn't be the first time Y&R (or any other soap for that matter) to change a villain into a good guy. Just look at Michael, Kevin, Jana etc. So I'm sure even if they did all this and then turned Adam to the good side, people would like him .. (I wouldn't, but some people would..)
