Ron's writing for Tess is horrible. Its like she's a new character. She was a bad girl but bad in the sense that she was selfish. She did horrible things to protect and benefit herself but this current version of Tess is just plain evil. She wouldnt be plotting to kidnap and lock people up in secret rooms and torture them. She's mean adn nasty now just for the sake of being nasty. Tess under Higley was a 1 note character who grew into a multilayered character over time but Ron's Tess is a 1 dimensional cartoon. Before her redeeming qualities was her love for Nash and her unborn baby but now she has absolutely none. Aside from that one scene in the beginning, we never even see her with Bree. What happened to that love for that little girl. She deosnt even seem to be honoring Nash's memory anymore. She's all about hate and revenge. She lost her appeal and they might as well have revealed this as a different personality, bc this isnt the Tess I used to love before.

Never watched the first Tess storyline but could it be Tess is plain evil now because she lost the love of her life at the hands of her sister's BF? Tess also lost the Vineyard along with Nash and did not even get the chance to tell Nash about the new baby. What put Jessica over the edge 1st time around? Although I am not feeling BW's acting as Tess the storyline is meh.

I enjoyed Tuesday's episode more than Wednesday's and even though the ratings for OLTL may be in the crapper I find it entertaining.

I love her here but Tina's always been a ditz. Smart but still a ditz. For God's sake, she slept with a man she believed to be her brother just because she was hot to trot. Then she was willing to scam her sister - again - and drag her kids out of town away from Cord and the family to get away with her and David's plan. That was as recently as the Krista Tesreau years. She is at best a goodhearted flake. I have no problem believing she is too clumsy or preoccupied with little David Vickers to avoid getting locked in the secret room.

As for Tess, she has never been an idle romantic. She was always psycho, going back to her earliest appearances, assaulting people with taser guns and nearly driving Viki into her grave, which Dena Higley whitewashed in favor of "Tash." That is what Tess is: A symptom of psychosis.

Tina didnt realize it was a secret room till after she was recounting what happened with Victor, Viki and Dorian and Viki's DID. Thats when the lightbulb lit up inside. I wish she had just pushed Tess out of the way and not worried about hte pregnancy

    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
    • I just finished watching and I have to admit, not once did I find myself wondering who wasn't there. Quick question for anyone who followed this better than I did: was it only Andrew who rescued Cat and John from Clyde, or was Shane involved too? The reactions during their scenes today felt a little off to me. I know it was meant to be vague, but I didn't find it strange that they already knew each other.
    • Yeah, financially, Luna is in better shape than Deacon and Sheila.   -- Scott Clifton must have decided to chew the scenery in every scene of this "Liam is Dying" storyline. Yikes.
    • If J.R. wasn't busy with Ewing Oil, he'd be a heckuva soap recapper. He was SO gleeful at recapping Jenna-Bobby-Pam when the trio and Mark encountered each other at the Oil Baron's Ball. That being said, Lucy, presumably Sue Ellen and maybe Ray should all know this story, or at least part of it. Lucy was definitely at Southfork during Jenna and Bobby's relationship, and I believe Sue Ellen was about to marry J.R. around the time Jenna jilted Bobby. (Ray might not have given a damn.)

    • Broadcasting Magazine (May 5, 1980) : Future US-Next TV : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive From a May 1980 Broadcasting issue: Meredith Broadcasting in association with Alan Sloan Inc has committed itself to produce series of five half hours in soap opera form, "designed for youngers 11-14 and their parents." Programs, yet untitled, "will deal with problems teen-agers face in their relationships with peers and parents," with script topics reviewed in advance by teachers, psychologists and others. First episode is to air on Meredith's five TV's in September and ground broadcaster also anticipates syndication. If successful, idea is to go to full-fledged series.
    • Broadcasting Magazine (May 5, 1980) : Future US-Next TV : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive Looking at an old Broadcast issue with a fall schedule preview. Their description of the show: Lorimar Productions turns its cameras "below the surface of a small, traditional, thriving college town still large controlled by its founders, the Millingtons." Plot elements include "nurtured dreams, closely-held desires, closeted shame and vital truths about friends and family." Lee Rich, Michael Filerman and David Jacobs are executive producers of the Roundelay production, in association with Lorimar.  They also mention the show in a small section about advertising's point of view.  Advertising agency reaction to the new fall line-ups announced by ABC and CBS last week varied. But upfront, some agency types were apprehensive that their advertisers might be turned off by some of the new "titillating" entries. "I'm concerned about the amount of permissiveness," said one executive, with CBS' Secrets of Midland Heights commonly mentioned as one possible offender.
    • I just saw this. Thanks for sharing. The classic Y&R thread may enjoy your posts. It was in very poor taste for Andy Cohen to blindside MTS with that type of question, but I'm not surprised as he's an awful person.
    • The way Kat was acting today, it only enhances Silk Press Sheila's stalking accusations.   She certainly takes after her Aunt Dani. It took about 70 episodes, but the show seems to have finally understood that Ashley/Derek have to interact with the rest of the canvas in order to get viewers to care about them... or at least understand what their purpose for being on the show. Leslie vs Kat is a wonderful pairing.... and Leslie/Tomas was comically.   Dani's delusion that she's still Bill's wife.... no comment. I really hope that Eva doesn't turn out to be Nicole's child.. because I find the fall out from the anniversary party to be pretty good and there's more possibilities having Eva not being Nicole's child then being her child..imho.
