Members UKBoi
This wont happen. No way would VM go back to General Hospital so soon after Las Vegas ending, especially when the Writers' Strike didn't exactly give her any opportunities to scope out new roles. I think if this coming pilot season is a dud for her, you'll see her hinting about coming back to GH, but not this soon. Plus I've never got the Brenda love...I mean the clips I've seen arent exactly riveting...I'd far rather see them bring on Tamara Braun in a new role (and hell, even give Jennifer Bransford a new role too) and have all 4 Carlys running around Port Charles than I would like to watch Brenda causing the men of Port Chuck to go weak at the knees at the sight of her. Members jjjg
Looks like she turned ABC down.
Members Mr. Brightside
I don't think she turned ABC down exactly. Remember when Las Vegas was first cancelled and the speculation began? TV Guide reported that although the show was cancelled, VM and the rest of the LV cast still had a holding contract with NBC because the cancellation did not release them from their contract. The producer of LV is now the producer of Knight Rider and both Marcil and James Lesure (ex-Mike, LV) are going to be recurring on Lipstick Jungle. Members JONNYSBRO
The thing is Vanessa Marcil has something she did not have when she returned in 2002 after a four year abscense from the show. She has a primetime resume as a series regular on what was a semi popular show. She had a five year run on Las Vegas on NBC. NBC primetime apparently loves Vanessa and they want to use her in projects. Her doing a recurring gig is more like NBC using her until they find something more permanent. You cannot blame Vanessa for wanting to stay in primetime television. It is way more money and exposure. I think the major thing is she wants to keep a good relations with NBC primetime, so going to a rival network to do a short stint is not what it going to work for her. Guza has begged her to return on his hands and knees. The hardest thing was the amount of time they wanted Vanessa for. They wanted a six month contract from her to committ to a Brenda storyline, she wants a 4-6 week stint. Vanessa returning to GH might not ever happen. Members DeeeDee
Vanessa should learn from Genie & stay gone.
Members XxTaraXx
She had a primetime resume back in 2002. She was on 90210, one of the biggest shows of the 90s for a few years. NBC clearly has her under contract and won't let her out like they wouldn't for her to return in 2004 for the Anna Lee tribute/Lila Quartermaine funeral. I think for the character of Brenda Barrett, anything less than 6 months is unacceptable. Unless she comes for a few days for her friend Robin's wedding or baby shower, then she needs to come for a longer term than 4-6 weeks. That's a joke. The fans have waited 5 years for her return.
