Today's scenes with Kate/Victor were so stupid. Kate knows Victor's not in good shape and anything upsetting will cause him to take a turn for worse, yet Kate's by his bedside cyring and telling him about Philip? Huh!!??

This John versus Phillip storyline is making me hate nearly everyone involved. I hate Bo for covering for Philip, I hate Victor and Kate for obstructing justice, I hate Morgan because the poor portrayal, I hate Philip and I think he does deserve jail time, and I hate that EJ is sacking up with John. This storyline is sucking the life out of Days and I haven't been impressed all summer.

Monday sucked compared to Friday, which actually had a decent, long-ish scene between Caroline and Kayla. I swear they wouldn't need to pad it out with flashbacks if they just had scenes last longer than 2 seconds (I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating).

ICA! That really irritated me. Does she want him to die!?

This story is really making me not like Morgan. Maybe it's cold but I just can't sympathize with her. She doesn't make me want to. She's acting like a spoiled brat. I don't see the vulnerability. And her comment about not caring whether Kate wanted he at the hospital made me want to smack her.

I really like Ava but am OK with her leaving because I don't like her with John. I'm just not feeling it.

I love Morgan. And i love that she didnt give a damn about Kate wanting her there or not. Philip is an adult, Kate needs to deal. And what reason does she have not to want Morgan there?

Kate.. man i hate her. More and more every year. And LK's acting sure didnt help yesterday.

Bo/Hope.. as i said i love them for the first time ever. and i hate it.

I am really sad to see Ava going. I loved her and John and wish Marlena and John could breakup for good.

Nicole had the best line today with a sarcastic comeback to Trent as if she and Caroline were best friends and played bridge together, I was laughing my ass off.

Where did this bitchMarlena come from? I enjoy her like this to be honest, but her attitude just came out of nowhere.

    • Actually that is not what happened. Nor is the timing right for it to have been. We learned from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay  in 2006, which can be found on YT, that it was Fred Silverman's idea to do the 90 minute show. I don't know how much you know about him but he had these amazing successes as head of daytime at both ABC & at CBS. Then he came to NBC where basically everything he touched turned NOT TO GOLD but to shite. Some of the most expensive shows ever produced up to that time were huge flops. Although even he, like a broken clock, could be right on occasion. However, as we know, he was not right about the 90 minute show. As a matter of fact, afterward,  NBC programmers, who worked FOR him, were asked why they did it & they were quoted as saying it was because they couldn't think of anything else to try. It was a stupid idea from a man who had reached the point where he was throwing anything at the wall to see if it would stick.

    • I stopped watching Another World in 1990. Simply, lost interest in the show.  I had watched the show from 1973 to 1990. The 90 minute show started the decline of AW.  NBC panicked with expanding AW due to the GH hoopla. As mentioned above, 1982 was a trainwreck for AW.  The introduction of the Shea family, the movie storyline involving Jamie, and Steve Frame favoring Rachel over Alice. The writers went into that direction due to the forgettable performance of Linda Borgeson.

    • Ive seen that theory thrown out but the one thing against it is that Leslie and her family lived in Chicago. She only came back to DC last year after her husband died. Unless they say Alan made a trip to DC and died while away, she wouldnt know about that. However I do think the angle of her finding out that Martin was involved could work as that gives her leverage against Bill too for covering it up. She'd want to get revenge on him by threatening to have him disbarred
    • What a good write-up @Errol! Nice seeing the nod to Duplaix's lead.

    • And, to me it is a little bit hilarious that AW fans all over continue to refer to it as Egyptian Dust Recently elsewhere I've been running polls. When did you stop watching AW or What storyline caused you to stop watching AW. You may be interested to know that sticking it out till the bitter end is winning by a landslide. Next highest vote getter is - no surprise - Frankie's murder. So that covers like 60% & next 20%. Then the votes drop way down to 10% and well below but a wide array of reasons are given, including but not limited to  Justine Lumina Rachel having twins at her age, how ridiculous Mac's death the 90 minute show firing JC, George R & Dwyer Hmm, I know there are a few more, in the 1%-3% range but I cannot think of what they are. Sorry, my bad. Should have made notes but I didn't know I would be posting about it. LOL!!
