Wow that's great. I love all the color photos, in character. It's so weird seeing Kevin Spirtas dressed that way.

I think I may have posted all the Rituals recaps, but I'm not entirely sure.

I love the covers too. Poor MBE - epitome of the 80s.

The guy looks so familiar to me. I'm not sure why. He reminds me a little of Bill Beyers.

The lead up to the big murder mystery was fairly well done. I have to agree with Charlene Keel's assessment of those episodes. They sound very exciting, but, with soap opera, I don't think they would be able to maintain the momentum. There was going to be lulls. I think that is where they were going to have trouble luring the 'Dallas' / 'Dynasty' crowd. I think trying to tell a more corporate story in daytime might have worked, but it's too much to ask an American audience to invest in a daily serial against primetime programming. I wish the MyNetworkTv novelas had aired at 7 or 11 in order to build an audience.

It's been wonderful to learn more about characters like Clay, Marissa, and Nancy.

thanks carl.

Thanks, Carl.

So this was the set up for the Diandra / Mike situation. This international espionage plot sounds bad, but it was the in-thing at the time. I think the show should have geared itself more towards the primetime audience with the business intrigue and family in-fighting.

Bernhardt is such an odd character. I've never gotten a real sense of how old he is suppose to be.

The Christina / Patrick dynamic is interesting and I can see how this would have evolved into an affair. I'm still not clear how everyone is related since it is clear Brady tries to set up Noel / Jeff without there being any mention of Sara and Christina being related.

Taylor's comment regarding sleeping with her husbands was a bit humorous.

I believe the textile developed for the government is the Chalon project that dominates a good portion of the business action in the series.

Also from this issue:

The murderer's confession in a courtroom outburst on RITUALS is just the beginning of the action on the syndicated soap. Coming up ,watch for Katie's father to return. An adoption offer will create dissension in Mike and Lacey's marriage - but one of them may have a change of heart...and could a romance blossom between Sara and Detective Gates? Stay tuned...

    • No. When he tried to blow up half the world As for when Andrew was kidnapped, Dimitri would reveal, during his tearful plea for Andrew's love, that it was Megan who put him up to it, and that deep down, he didn't want to hurt the true love of his life

    • Hmmmm....your Chandler Massey? You mean when Dimitri tied up Andrew?
    • Per today's developing L.A. situation, I will let someone else cover it. I am not out there because of my recent physical situation (though I'd like to be) but I'm perfectly safe. Honestly I expect it'll go as poorly for the administration as it's already beginning to, and good for the people who can be out there fighting but we've been here before. Charlottesville was an atrocity that should've ended a presidency and didn't, and now Trump in like Flynn and his second term is less than six months in. My general pragmatism has curdled into something entirely more fatalistic in recent months. I have no expectation for this changing anything materially about our larger situation, I just hope a lot of people don't die. And if it shackles or trips up the administration for awhile re: its fascist policies or actions, great.

    • I remembered this as well, so I was surprised that Tomas didn't seen to know what Eva was talking about.  I would be happy for them to go their separate ways and get help for their own addictions.
    • I admit it. Peter Porte is my Chandler Massey  And, because his previous storyline was just so gross and disgusting and poorly written, I feel the character and the actor deserve some redemption.  And what better storyline would there be then for it to be revealed that Dimitri and Andrew had a fling when he was in the ISA pretending to be Kyle Graham, and that Dimitri has returned to Salem to get Andrew, the true love of his life, back. I would even tie it in to what he tried to do in Beyond Salem, which a certain fired head writer basically wanted us to forget
    • You love your Dimitri. I wonder why.
    • A Will/Sonny/Paul/Andrew/Dimitri mess, in the aftermath of John's death. And if I was writing, Leo would've been dead and forgotten about already
