Jana needs to go batshit crazy again (this time without the tumor), kill Gloria, and be shot to death on her wedding day to Kevin. :)

Now, I'm against violence against woman as well, but I'll make exceptions for Gloria and Jana.

Emily is pretty good but the character was ruined once she murdered Carmen.

I agree.... I loved Jana before she was made the murderer. A character with much potential, ruined by Latham.

Yes, that is how I feel. Gosh, this last few years has made me jaded.

I don't plan on jumping for joy for a LONG time.

OLTL had such an overnight jump in storyline quality, and now has settled in a bit. It's still good, but it's not perfect by any means. But I'm enjoying it day-to-day which is a big step up from a lot of soaps. And it's been pretty consistent (in my opinion) since the writers got back from the strike (when half the writers were entirely different from the ones we have now).

The thing about Y&R is that they're using the SAME writers AS the strike. So there isn't going to be an overnight change. It's got to be gradual, there's just no other way. Sheffer's not in charge of the stories, and Racina's only writing one script a week, so it's not like that's going to make or break the show. There's no other option BUT to be a gradual change. So we should take a long time to figure out if the show is back on track.

But I still liked today's show. So there. :)

LOL

I can't stand watching her 'reformed' because she's ruined for me. For good.

Now THAT'S a story I can get behind.

Good points.

On usenet some of us just agreed to wait until 1/1/09 to render a verdict :). Others replied with a "yeah, right".

Of course, part of me desperately hopes that we get an OLTL "overnight sensation" thing at Y&R, but not without ambivalence. Although, and I have been trying to watch OLTL, I fear that show may be burning off a lot stored fuel now. The price of that sensationalism is that, when you eventually retreat from it, you seem like you've run out of fuel. Or, you keep ramping it up, and soon you have Passions. OLTL has been consistently high energy and fabulous, but that makes me worry they're not pacing themselves right, and they are not setting up long-story. But what do I know?

Go Victor!

Is there anybody left in GC that Victor is'nt mad at????? Somebody needs to open a can of whup-ass on his butt and Nikki needs to spit in his face. When David Chow gets his, Victor will shovel it in Nikki's face with a bulldozer. Geeze I can't wait.

Well, it was just one writer, and we know she should've only been writing scripts. ;)

Anyway, I wonder what influence Rauch will have on the stories and characters. Y&R, unlike the other soaps, has consultants that have significant creative influence. Latham, like Rauch, joined as a Creative Consultant and her influence was felt instantly. Also, if Rauch is indeed going to be bumped up to EP soon, that will have to tamper with some of the dynamics of the show. Unlike others, I think someone like Rauch can add a certain excitement factor to the show that's missing.

Neither is an Australian accent.

The accent is barely noticeable now. Much more subtle than it was a year ago.

Tammin and Adrienne Frantz both did a great job with the catfight! :)

I still notice it, as do many others, it is our OPINION after all.

I think part of the reason a lot of people just don't like her acting has to do with the fact that she's struggling to hide the accent as she acts, and it distracts her and sucks out all the confidence she has as an actress. Meryl Streep she is not.

During her little fight with Amber I was waiting for her to shout "Add some Roo to your do!"

I must confess I find this Restless Style stuff a bit fun. The pictures of Victoria (see below) were terrific...I like some of the other homages (e.g., Joan Crawford or Liz Taylor) more. [Having just typed that, I'm shocked at how gay this layout is :)] This month's Restless Style webzine actually contains the contentious article about Sabrina.

Can I just say that I actually liked Chole and Amber together? Those two are so alike and its fitting if they become friends. Both of those characters have needed a friend for a long time, glad to see it might happen.
