You're right about Carol. She's difficult to write for but I do want to see more. I love Carol and it's a shame that the Billie story ended quickly. She's going to be involved in Bianca's exit but I'd still like more.

There are rumors about Diane Parish quitting. I hope that doesn't happen; I love Denise and her relationship with Kim.

She's cute.

There's been rumblings about a new family joining in the new year. I wonder if she's part of that.

Watching Monday's episode...who owned the flat next to Denise and Patrick, that Kim labeled a "house of horrors."?

  • Member

That house has apparently been empty for some time - this summer Lucas kept Denise prisoner in there when the family assumed she was alive.

Charlie Brooks was so good in Monday's episode. Whether Pat would still support her, I don't know, but I really loved all those scenes. Even Neil McDermott was OK.

This is probably the only story I'm enjoying on any of the soaps at the moment, for Janine more than any of the Ryan/Stacey stuff.

Thanks for the clarification Carl. I missed out on that storyline.

I am in awe of Brooks and St. Clements, even though the ladder is in a supporting role in the story, she's still hitting all the right beats.

Did you all see the extra "Red Button" scene with Janine and Stacey? Absolutely amazing work by both, but especially Chuck.

The one where Janine visits Stacey, right? Yes, so much wonderful subtext.

I wonder if Stacey will get Julia's Theme on Saturday with her exit (yes, the show is airing on X-Mas day as it always does). The last time Julia's Theme played on the big X-Mas episode was apparently 1992.

Then again, they've used Julia's Theme so much this year, Stacey already had one when Lily was born, and if she gets it with her exit it will be the first time a character gets it twice in the same calendar year.

I hope not, she doesn't deserve it. She should have never gotten it before, either.

I disagree, if anyone deserved it, it's her, or at least Lacey, having carried some ludicrous material over the past 6 years. She handled everything that was thrown her way. Some can claim otherwise, but no character has been the face of the show over the past 5 years more than Stacey. Yes, she suffered from some terrible writing, but Lacey/Stacey has a big hold on the British audience that few soap stars/characters do in the UK anymore.

But again she already had Julia's Theme this year, so she might not get it on her exit.
