I can see Kim thinking to herself---why would I be so emotionally invested in a guy who literally looks like he is the slasher in a slasher film?
I think they tried expanding Reva's reach and having her anchor this story, and it doesn't work. I don't think anyone could've really, as Cain is never a compelling figure.
It is a hoot seeing a younger Victor Garber though.
I'd speculate that Reva and Kyle were popular because the viewers didn't expect Josh back, and they wanted to see Reva happy. Otherwise, I don't get it. He's more controlling than generous.
I think this is where the show having an older audience comes in handy as that is who is buying these releases. And buying the books, presumably.
I have family who in the last few years have watched the show pretty much every day.
The writers are doing Lucky no favors by having his staying away for so long and now his leaving again be completely his choice. And to compound it, they give him such lame reasons for it all. This is not a character they care for.
My jaw dropped when Vernon showed up at Dani's house. I'm like "oh snap, daddy's home and its about to go down".
No father wants to find out that their daughter is involved with anyone, even if that daughter is grown and a divorced mother.
