That is scandalous! I guess this all stems from the rumors she was upset that Kent Riley was fired. If she was causing trouble I guess I can see why they wrote her out quickly, but it's a shame. Considering that Marquess let her interview him in that welcome interview he did for the HO site, they may have had good plans for her if she'd stayed.

What do you think of the show lately? Do you like the Sharpes?

Yeah, it was Cheryl, not Michaela. Carl, you getting old or something? LoL

So, everyone's with me, that the reason Rhys was actually pissed off to find his mom with Darren was because he was seething with jealousy, right?

RARREN' to go! 2010!

He does have a bit of Guy about him, and someone else I'm blanking on. Whenever I hear the name Bart I think of Bart Simpson.

So I guess you're happy to see Rae gone then? I thought the exit with Newt was kind of bittersweet, although I am not sure about moving away with your drug addict mother who you have only been reunited with for about two days, half of which she spent MIA. How does she know she even got a job? I also kind of wonder why they didn't just have Newt and Rae leave together instead of separately but the last scene with the book he made for her was sweet. Is it wrong to say I was kind of hoping she'd keel over after he left?

The scene where Suzanne told Neville about Darren had a whole lotta bad acting.

Odd that Tony is dumping Cindy so quickly and was going to run away with Gabby Sharpe after about three days.

I think the same about Bart. I hope the actor is strong enough to overcome his unfortunate name.

Poor Cindy. I did laugh though of seeing her in that apron. All I could think of is, look who's pregnant!

Are you sure Rae is gone for good? Her exit hasn't been announced, has it? I just don't want to celebrate until we could be completely sure.

On the other hand, even though Rae brought down Newt immensely, I am still going to miss Nico a hell of a lot. He was a tremendous actor and one of the best criers I have ever seen. I hope he goes on to big things.

So I'm guessing Suzanne and Neville will leave town to work on their marriage? Can't get rid of them fast enough. I wonder where Rhys is going to live when they sell The Dog. I hear Darren's flat has a bedroom free? :)

Oh and I love the music Hollyoaks uses. I was happily surprised to hear The xx in the background when Newt drove away.

I had assumed she was also going because of the part about her nursing her grandmother. Most of that can't be oncamera, unless they're going to have her grandmother with Ricky's father and Rae and Ricky become like Kay from Tracey Ullmann Show/Tracey Takes On when she found a boyfriend who also had to care for his mother.

I wasn't a big fan of the emo pouting routine but I will miss Nico's chemistry with his family. He also had some potential with Lauren, early on, although they worked best as friends. I kind of like that they got rid of the goth look, as it made him look better and that whole thing often seemed poserish to me.

Rhys living with Darren would be great ^_^

Supposedly

I'm not sure if you were a fan of hers but supposedly Hayley Ramsey is also returning for a time.

It was. Josh caused a car crash which broke India's arm or something. This was airing around the time Marquess was announced as the new producer and people were speculating this was all his doing and everyone in the car with Josh would die.

Have you heard the rumor that

    • Garneau was in the Liberal party and his riding was in Montreal. He was the first Canadian in outer space.
    • I agree. I really have enjoyed this story from the beginning. I feel like it needed the time for us to care about Doug. They've done a nice job of explaining his motives and making me care for him. I still feel like he's doomed and Vanessa will end up being a widow and now I'm invested in that *not* happening now that I've fallen for him. Friday was good but so was the entire week. I think they're doing such a nice job of keeping things moving. We got good movement with Bill's story this week, Chelsea is attempting to date, Andre and Dani are having tough conversations about their relationship, of course Anita reunited with Sharon. There is *so* much going on and I didn't even cover all of it.  I wish all of the soaps would take a page out of BTG book and start rotating their stories. I love that everybody is getting a chance to shine and they don't just sit on one lead story to the point you get sick of it.
    • Did Jordan Clarke have a departure sometime between 1985 and 1989? I know Robert Newman had three runs: 1981-1984, 1986-1991, 1993-end.
    • Well, they usually weren't on the show at the time for long until the late 90's. But yeah, they really deserved a story centered on them, and not through the lens of Reva.
    • Chelsea was doing the absolute most today! Why was she introducing her sister to a woman she doesnt know? That whole scene was embarrassing. Madison needs to stay away from her bc she is too immature
    • Gosh, what a waste with Lunacy. Why have her live with $B, reveal Finn, pardon her, etc What makes this story incredibly hollow is that what Luna is asking isn't unreasonable - to spend time with her cousin father. She's not asking to move in with them. How hard with it be for Finn to throw her a bone by, say, I'll meet you for lunch/coffee once at week at the hospital cafeteria. Lunacy isn't going to hurt Finn. In fact, all her crimes were related to finding her father and it turns out to be someone she's loved her entire life. Instead of course-correcting the nonsense of last summer, Brad somehow found a way to make this worse! That's a skill... Of all the younger actors B&B has cast during the past 5 years, LY has shown the most growth and range. Why get rid of her?
    • On the subject of sets (seems more interesting to discuss than the actual show)  Some sets we don't see anymore Lauren/Michael apartment (haven't seen that in years) Victoria's house (are Marian/Tessa living there?) Apartment above Crimson Lights (I think Chelsea was the last resident) Penthouse (Lily's home) Chancellor Estate (Devon/Abby) Chancellor office (once Dark Horse) Nick's house GCAC room (used as residence/hotel room for several characters) Some of these may pop up again. The tack house, for example, was not seen for many months before being used again. Have I missed anything?
    • Thanks for searching through everything. Worked on them so long, just too lazy to check for those links myself, so I am glad you chose to do it! I guess I never did type out anything for 1973-1977 in regards to the preemptions, but they are on the charts at least (and this far back, they don't seem to do any of those "breakouts" anymore, so things are simpler in the 1970's, so eventually I could type those out).
    • I dump on the Y&R sets problem all the time, but BOLD is no better -- and they're not even introducing new sets. All of their sets are years old, and very few look like they're inhabited by people with money. Is that going to change with this move? I'd rather they save the money spent on another remote, which is no better than an HGTV travelogue, and get some new/better sets.
    • The donut posts here make up for a Friday show that was barely meh. Aside from seeing Anna, I really didn't care much about anything else. While I understand the thought behind breaking up all the sadness with "other scenes," I'd rather they moved right to John's funeral. Instead of hearing a stupid story about John changing some minor character's tire 20 years ago, just move on to the crying. I also thought the Chad and Cat scenes were a waste. I realize not everyone is devastated by John's death to the point of not functioning, but going sky diving is a choice. By the way, Jack and Jennifer are giving me nothing on this return. Please leave asap. DAYS did such a great job with John's death, so ending the week this way was a letdown.
