Members Cashton
Indeed she will. Two teams of writers and 4 head writers (all of them the same people who have been writing this show into the ground) . It sounds like a reality show - they should call it "The Amazing Race To Get GL Cancelled".
Members aMLCproduction
while I am not oppoed to this, it's doesn't make sense. I feel sorry for GL viewers. 4 freaking HW's who has final say? It's different so we'll see what happens.
Members EastMA2
Think back 4 years ago. Did any GL fan think that there could be a worse team than Conboy/Weston? But, it turns out that Wheeler/Kreizman are much worse. Soneone asked about her Exec experience. She was directing at ATWT, and under Paul Rauch's regime, she became a Producer on GL. She was at GL for about 6 months before John Conboy replaced Rauch. Almost immediately when Conboy came on board, she left GL and went back to directing ATWT. Then she ended up replacing Conboy as GL's EP over a year later. I'm sure it's because she came the cheapest as the show was way over budget under Conboy. The show has never been the same since. And I do not have a good feeling about this new headwriter combo. It just reeks of further incohesiveness and we'll get more random scenes that end in mid sentence with no cliffhangers. Members RoseVioletDaisy
I have a feeling that this four-headed monster has been operating for a while unofficially and that's why the show is so disjointed now and consists of short, shallow scenes that don't carry any meaningful narrative from one episode to the next. Members GL FAN
I couldn't agree with you more. GL is so boring and is truly lacking direction..... P&G and CBS should wake up and fire Kreizman and Wheeler after what they have done to this show. There is truly NO HEART to this show anymore. I'm about to tune out for good or I will just keep my DVR fast forwarding! They need 1 headwriter to steer the story and direction and not 4 that have previously written junk! Here is my fix to return it to glory....we need emotional character driven stories that characters viewers care about. The focus should be as follows: 1) Cedars Hospital with a real set....the return of the Bauers (Ed, Michelle, Hope, with Blake and Holly to the mix) ie....Michelle is now a doctor, Ed returns from Africa, Hope is now a famous neuro surgeon, Blake is the hospital administrator, Holly runs a support group with Ross and Blake's sons as volunteers. The Scene....can't tell you....but it is why the Bauers come back...GL will have to hire me! The only hint I will tell you is that Mel and Leah fit into this picture with the Marler boys. This is a major storyline and will drive other umbrella stories below....#3. 2) Spauldings...the return of Alan-Michael to battle for Spaulding and (his mom is coming back) and India to move things along. Alan plots with India to ruin Beth....someone from Beth's and Lillian's past returns and it turns out Buzz Cooper knows this person from his service days. Hint...Could we say triangle? 3) The return of Mindy Lewis who hooks up with Cyrus and watch Alexandra Spaulding's claws come out because of Mindy and India! 4) The Reunion of Josh and Reva....there would be an emotional story line that brings them together with the return of their children Shayne and Marah. The hint is that this will be something for them to sink their teeth into and each one will have different opinions, but it will bring them together eventually and this forms an umbrella story from #1...can't say now! By the way...Mindy and Marah open a boutique in Springfield and there will be some story out of that... 5) The return of cat and mouse dating for Billy and Vanessa....I think it would be fun to watch these too fall in love again and don't know it's happening. 6) Good bye.....Ava, Jeffrey, Rafe, Rafe's Mother, Remy, and maybe Olivia to make room for the returns! 7) By the way I have other stores for Dinah, Mallet and the Coopers! So what do we have....veteran peformers mixing in with generations that includes veteran couples and budding new young couples . ie...multi-generational stories is what GL is all about....rebuilding of the GL families (Bauers, Spauldings, Lewis) What is so hard about it Kreizman and Wheeler??? What do you all think?

Members ian
Let's get something straight: GL is savable. Why? Because they still have a dynamo cast. Justin Deas, Kim Zimmer, Gina Tognoni, Jordan Clarke, Crystal Chappell, Ron Raines, Tina Sloan, Marj Dusay and many others, this is just to name a few. It's all in the WRITING. They need to place an EP who knows the show and who won't eat the trash that's served up. Kick these four writers to the curb, because I think it's just too many chiefs and not enough indians, or, native Americans if you will. And for christ's sakes, somebody has to go out on a limb and funnel a little bit of money into this show, I mean, can they not BORROW money from CBS? P&G? KIM ZIMMER??! I think if they had a decent business model and some good stories to use the already awesome cast, they could justify a bit of a budget boost on credit. This could be thought of as an INVESTMENT. That's the problem, nobody wants to invest in GL anymore, not the network, especially not those in charge, and in some cases not even the actors cause they've got [!@#$%^&*] to work with. Maybe this is EW's answer to Kim Zimmer's disgruntled comments? Who knows. 70 years of history. Let's take what works (The families! Bauers, Lewis, Spaulding, Cooper) and let's pretend some of the stupider [!@#$%^&*] never happened (Reva clone, back in time, amish Reva, San Cristobel) trust me, if they can ignore valid history they can sure as hell ignore the crap history. Bring back a little integrity in storytelling, and romance, and we're good to go. I don't want to hear GL is beyond help. Sure, it might be easier to cancel it than fix it, but as long as they have one of the best casts on daytime, they can do this.
Members Ryan
I agree with you Ian to a certain extent, but look at how much damage that has been allowed to happen on the show?
Members ian
Yeah, but, SO many soaps ignore SO MUCH. Just get into gear and don't look back. Give it a year or two and nobody has to talk about the "dark time" seriously if a character can go upstairs and then never be heard from again, GOOD storytelling can make this crap a distant memory. I'd write this show for free for six months just to prove that it can be done. They can take the money they would have paid me and invest it in the show!! Members TC
Even though I have watched this show off and on from the 70's to the 90's (Clone Reva), and then really just bits and pieces since, I feel unqualified to give an opinion. It's so far from what it was even 5 years ago.
Members juppiter
I don't disagree, but I don't necessarily agree either.... A lot of GL fans have trouble separating budget cuts from Ellen Wheeler (for example, GL Fan, the solutions you suggest are great but impossible under the current budget... that's not EW, it's the budget). We would've gotten massive budget cuts no matter what (unless we had instead had a producer who couldn't/wouldn't make the cuts, then the show would've been canceled.) That the show is even on in spite of such cuts amazes me. But could another producer have done it without sacrificing the show's identity? As awful as Conboy/Weston were, the show was at least still just a horrible version of itself. GL today is completely different vs. 4 years ago. But was that Wheeler or the cuts? IMO it's unclear and a bit unfair to blame all of it on her. I do disagree with whoever said GL was savable. IMO it's the only one of the remaining 8 soaps that is so far from itself that it is beyond salvation.
