One of the reasons I stopped watching this show was because I was burned out by EJ/Sami/Lucas and knew that it was long from being over. So now Lucas is going to walk in on them having sex. It sure does seem that the only reason that Sami started to really give EJ the time of the day was because Nicole was giving him some interest. I hope there is actually more to it than that.

I'm posting the very rant I professed tonight on In The Zone, because I feel that strongly.

what days is doing to ejami is absolutely reprehensible. how can the powers that be think to themselves that the viewers will simply forget that ej RAPED sami? forcing someone to have sex with you is NOT the same as courting the one you like with flowers and dinners out. its a symbol of domination and insecurity and a clear statement that he feels sami is beneath him, nothing more than an object there for him to use at his will. and then, to torment her for MONTHS afterwards, only to wake up one week with one goal in mind: win her heart as if her pride wasn't enough. how can you win someones heart when you've bruised their soul to the very core? when you have degraded them to feel like nothing more than dirt? i know that feeling because i myself am a victim of rape. i put up with sami seemingly forgetting what happened to her, because i know i tried to put what happened to me out of my mind. i put up with her being even civil to ej, because she wanted to be the better person as i tried to take the high road time and time again. but to see sami turn into a lovestruck, jealous harpy who cant stop thinking about her attacker is the last straw. he took her dignity both physically and emotionally and now he has her in the palm of his hand, at his beckon call, to use all over again? this time, he might be gentler, but hes still raping her mind body and soul with every wink and every false profession of love the very words he uses to woo her are synonymous with the very gun he held to her head while he had his way with her.. he makes me SICK.

And, including everything else, the regression and destruction of Sami, who had finally grown up, is sad. She has now went right back to the selfish, spoiled little girl who only cares about herself, and to hell with everyone else. She jst cheated on her husband.......TWICE.......with theman who raped her. Not only that, this is the same man her husband shot and went to prison for.

Just shameful.

I will say this about the storyline.. sami brady may be a lot of things, but honestly.. a whore is not one of them. and this is a very whore move she is making.

i am glad that she has some fire back and pulled out her bitch card more often than not again. making sami brady hope&jennifer&marlena lite was NOT ok. not with me anyways. she is not a heroine type char and never should have been sold as one.

^ICAM on liking this version of Sami much better! The other just plain didn't work for me at all. Couldn't stand her. Since she's married to EJ it doesn't make her a slut for sleeping with him. Her messing around with lucas after she'd married EJ seemed more out of character.

As for the twice - well if they do it once, they may as well do it again! Plus it should give lucas some potentially interesting scenes...

cubsgirl - I hope there's more to it than that, too.

^i agree with you... i only eman its a whore move in the way that it seems like she goes after ej after she feels like she could lose him to nicole, but i forgot they have that talk and i soo forgot they were married. less whoreish now.

but honestly, i hate it when people call her a whore. shes not. she was raped by alan, she raped austin, she slept with brandon and lucas and ej... and maybe franco? im sure she did. thats 6 men in over 15 years and 2 of them were rape.

Well, I'm actually looking forward to these scenes. I realize I'm virtually alone in here, but I never considered Dec. 29th rape anyway...hence, what most of you are using as reasons for not liking this pairing don't impact me. I always believed Sami had feelings beyond hate for EJ, even when Sheffer was writing the stories last year. Just my opinion, of course.

    • My only recollection of Ms Felder in Tom Lissanti's book is that she was not well liked backstage, and nobody was aware of rumors that she was fired because of her looks, including the network executive interviewed for the book.
    • a) you would not be sorry, but  b) full episodes from the first half of '89 are hard to find.
    • Ya see..., that's why I can't watch this show on my own!

I'm ripping it for being dumb, meanwhile half the episode goes over my head.  Hello pot, I'm kettle.
    • When put very plainly it wouldn't make sense, but you could say that Ashley would prefer someone that can pay his own way without sharing expenses and has more than a working class experience. Andre might want someone more stable and level headed. Of course the issue is that the characters don't match despite the plausibility of a connection making s
    • I am fine with no one mentioning Bob-ette again.  It's frustrating not ever knowing what was up with him truly or why we wasted so much time on that to never get a conclusion.  I am willing to forget it though. Abe being on the board makes more sense to me because of Lexie and Theo.  I think there was a wing dedicated to Autism research or treatment years ago possibly named after Theo and Lexie was the chief of staff at some points and worked there for years.  I could see Abe having interest in the hospital still.
    • TR eventually came to be a nickname for Theresa Regina, the name her kidnappers gave her. Estelle never referred to her as Rebecca, though, always Theresa. I guess that was what TR wanted.    TR went to Switzerland. Jane returned for the last week.  After Ryder died, TR never had a love interest. I assume they gave up. I wouldn’t have dropped John Loprieno as Danny but he got squeezed out by Quinn, really. A TR/Evie/Jerry triangle might’ve worked.    David Forsyth and Jackie Schultz had good chemistry. I liked Luann though. I think Sharon Gabet would’ve been a more interesting recast, and she might’ve kept Joe Lambie on as Lloyd.    But Suzi and Wendy were gone, and Liza was talking about leaving town to join Gary in Africa, so before the cancellation, I do believe Liza was getting phased out.  Sunny and Patti and Evie were set up as heroines, and it was a small show.
    • Andre/Ashley are a mismatch and not in a cute opposites attract sort of way. He is a very stylish photographer, independently wealthy, wordly  and she is a simple, struggling nurse with limited experiences. He has been having a covert sexual relationship with an older divorced woman and she is involved with a meat and potatoes blue collar  dude. Just  don't see what the attraction would be on either side.
    • I read that somewhere too - maybe it was mentioned in that book? I hope it's true.
    • I took a break from Edge of Night to finally start watching this. I watched the first week's worth of episodes. I started off chronologically even though they released the show originally with the Barnabas era first (don't know when he comes in). I had those discs in the complete coffin collection. I'm watching the complete series on Amazon so I hope Amazon doesn't pull a Knots Landing and yank the series before I finish as I don't have all of the beginning episodes. Thoughts: I appreciate the creepy black and white vibe and how everything is so mysterious even when it's just people walking into rooms. I also like seeing actors I know (Louis Edmonds, Joan Bennett, Mitchell Ryan, Conrad Bain (although he might be a cameo), etc.). It was nice to finally see Joel Crothers as I have yet to see him on Edge of Night. Crothers is quite looking so I wish he'd show up on EON. Mitchell Ryan is also attractive. I like how they set up Devlin's animosity towards the Collins family during this week.  We're left to wonder why Roger is so upset. Why is Devlin angry? What happened to Roger's wife? Who wrote to Victoria? Not much has really happened but I'm intrigued. The dialogue is certainly not on the level of EON. It amuses me they leave bloopers in. Bennett in particular struggles with doors. Was this filmed live?
