ATWT: Should Levin be the couple instead of Nuke?

I hope that Noah is just a stepping stone for Luke. Noah is a boring, one-note character who nobody is going to miss once he leaves. Kevin would have been a much more interesting story, with him coming to terms with his sexuality slowly and with Luke. The two of them would have had a very tenuous relationship. Right now, I think the story should go in a direction where something actually happens between Luke and Casey. Now THAT would be good.

A handful? You are being kind. Are you ill? LOL!

Kevin did apologize to Luke for the horrible things that he said, but most importantly, Kevin's character was well defined. He wasn't a good guy Luke twin like boring ass Noah. Having conflict between a couple is what generates the drama that makes a romance compelling to watch. Kevin and Luke had that foundation for a great romance.

The "Nuke" fans who aren't Luke fans any way. They don't mind Luke stuck with Noah played by an actor who stinks up the joint.

Kevin and Luke were in a meaniful relatioship than Nuke. We saw Levin get from step 1 to step 2 to step 3. But then they were dropped. Nuke started on step 1 and leaped to step 10.

I wasn't really a fan of Kevin because as a friend to Luke, I didn't think he was a very good friend. In hindsight, I would gladly take him back and think it would be a far more interesting pairing. Noah is just too bland and Karl was a far better actor. The Kevin/Luke friendship was much better defined and I think it would have been much more interesting to have Holden and Lily opposed to the relationship because Kevin just wasn't good enough for Luke. Put them in the Lucinda position lol. I think there could have been tons more story and I think they also have better chemistry. I'd be all for bringing back Kevin.

I wouldn't want to see a Luke/Casey pairing. Friendship yes, but relationship no. I just think that is too much of a slap in the face to the Masey fans to say what you invested in was all a farce. They would like to see Maddie return and revisit that.

Luke/Kevin, Luke/Noah, Luke/HotMeaninglessTwink...I don't think it matters. I don't think there's any way Luke's getting any on-screen action EVER. Or until TIIC can safely claim Van's leaving anyway and give their fans one shot of him in bed with anyone. (Yes, I'm just that cynical. I am a Carjack fan...it's in the by-laws.)

I think a Luke/Kevin story has the potential for more depth. But still, TIIC would have to deal with it. And they've proven they don't.

Ryan I feel for you! My account was suspended at VH.net all because on another board I linked back to a thread there and the majority of people who read that thread on the other board had a negative reaction to it. It was about the red carpet deal with Van and Jake and I was simply asking if anyone had heard about the controversy with it. A lot of people thought that the NukeFans were being ridiculus but becuase there was a negative reaction which I had no control over my account was suspended from there.

the couple is not the problem.

to be honest, neither is the fact that they are gay.

the show. the writers. the execs. thats the source. to fix the issue, you have to go to the source.

Luke & Kevin would be in the same situation luke and noah are. and to be honest thats part of the issue. the characters are all inter-changeable. the story's are plot driven. they write episode by episode instead of having a plan.

The couple is the problem. Noah has no personality and the actor who plays Noah is downright baaaaad. Kevin had a defined personality and the actor who played him was talented. None of this can cure bad writing, but it damn sure makes it more tolerable.

I thought Luke/Kevin was abruptly dropped. I can't even remember how K was written out. What I do remember is the foundation for a Levin relationship was more solid than Nuke's (and I like Nuke). I mean, we had Holden against Luke's friendship with Kevin and K was Luke's first crush. That alone is enough to kickstart a Levin relationship. I'd love to see Kevin come back and have Luke in a triangle (okay that might be asking for too much), but anything's better than the lame storylines being shown now. Oh and btw, I STILL don't believe Noah is gay. It makes me root for Luke to win him even more but I don't think it's fair for him to put in 110% and have Noah sit back.

So...yeah....bring back Kevin and let's see all HELL break loose.

ITA. Hell needs to break loose with Luke and Noah. Noah has yet to prove himself to me, and in reality he really hasn't proven himself to the rest of the Synder family. Bring on Kevin, have Luke fall off the wagon and get drunk and sleep with him and then bring on the triangle.

I agree with everyone who's said that Kevin was a much more well-defined character. Between all of the scenes between Luke and Kevin throughout the whole alcoholism storyline, then the random summer stuff at the country club, I felt that I had gotten a good idea of who he was. Well, not necessarily who he was, but who he was putting himself out there as. He was the typical high school guy who wanted be seen as cool [!@#$%^&*] by all of his friends, the type of guy who wanted to "score" with girls, etc. But had they explored more of that, we could have seen his core, why he was the way he was, etc.

My major gripe with Noah and Luke is that Luke's character has changed a lot, and it came out of nowhere. He was a straight-up bitch to Noah on his first day at WOAK, then he became this type of guy who makes suggestive sexual comments, and throws around gay slang ("beard," anyone?). I liked Luke better as the slightly naive, partly innocent guy who is only trying to make things right for everyone. I would have so loved Luke and Kevin in a relationship, and Kevin would so be a "badass" type and Luke would have to constantly be his voice of reason, the only one who can set him straight. That would have made sense.

    • I dont mind Jan. She's good in the minor capacity she is used.
    • tbqh I don't care about Jan, I don't care about Ashley and I think Jon Lindstrom as Joey is an acquired taste. Jon is a great actor but certain things are in his zone and then some are not. Some days I find Joey credible and compelling, but the stuff with him hanging around the Golden Corral, grumbling about Doug and bitching at Randy is not amazing. If he had material on par with what MVJ wrote for Ryan/Kevin on GH back in the day it'd be a different story. I do think he has real chemistry with Vanessa, which is in large part due to MVJ clearly molding that character (and hiring an appropriate actor) in the Lucy Coe vein when she reinvented Lucy in the '90s as well. But I am not here to spend 6+ months watching Jon glower a lot (which is what he's doing half the time to carry weak story) and make more vague dire pronouncements while Jen Jacob gets flustered and weepy over "Daddy" or whatever would come of that storyline. Putting them together sounds like a recipe for doom to me. But I may be in the minority on that.
    • I know this will never happen. But... Halle Berry as Dani Dupree(BTG). She would rock this role, it's in her wheelhouse.
    • When I see how bad the Ashley/Derek scenes are, I know there must be a larger purpose and Joey being her father is the thing that makes the most sense.  My take on it is that Ashley knows Joey is her father but doesn't know Joey. Maybe he was there when she was a child or just not around at all but I believe Jan when she says she didn't lie to her daughter about who her father was. Maybe she left him when she discovered his dangerous lifestyle.  I do think they could really jump start the character of Ashley if they hurry and do this. Jan is a great character and her scenes with Ashley have been helpful. This would further integrate Ashley into the canvas and give her something dramatic to do. With her working at the hospital along with Doug, it could lead to complications if she learns Doug is involved with her father. I just need is sooner rather than later because Derek is tanking her character. I need a distraction.

    • The stories are awful. I'm not enjoying any of them. All I'm left with is Sally in a plastic dress.

    • lol. But...SAME. in Mona's 'Good' voice.
    • I loved your rambling because you had some good thoughts.  Stopped watching Y&R years ago so can't comment on that, as far as Lame is concerned. No cares in the world.
    • 5-7   All I took from that episode was how much I love Damian and Lily and Billy needs to STFU. I KNEW HE WAS PRESSED how Nikki came into the office the day he had to leave it and would want payback on her, too. Whiny a$$.
