Members j swift
There's something ironically-fatal-attractiony about the Flame scene. She comes home to her Batgirl lair with the secret elevator, and then to get comfy she slips off her pumps and puts on a teddy that goes up her tush and another pair of heels. It's like, girl, you've already got him locked in a room, you don't need to dress up for him. Also, why don't soaps ever include the contractor who was hired to build the jail in the basement? Certainly, some dude is going around Santa Barbara talking about how much money he made by installing a fake wall. Or, are we to assume it was a DIY project? Either way, how did Flame afford it? They hadn't gotten the money from Robert yet. At least Lucy Coe just let down her hair, she didn't have a whole secret floor in her cottage.

Members Khan
Jesus must've told Marcy she wouldn't go to hell if she met with fans and talked about her days on that sinful soap opera.
Members janea4old
Marcy Walker at an in-person soap fan event in 2024. Just astonishing. From A Martinez' instagram, I knew he wanted this; but I never thought it would happen.
Members j swift
For 500 bucks, Marcy Walker had better do the huchi cuchi dance. That is a wild fee for VIP seats. Especially when you look at the venue, the only $300 seats are in the last few rows. So, is it really VIP if 75% of the audience has access?
Members Khan
I'd settle for her healing one of the attendees of their rheumatism.

Members Carlos Abad
Here are some things I have been reading lately about our favorite soap opera ‘Santa Barbara’. First is that Marcy Walker will attend the 40 anniversary of the soap and for me this is great because we haven’t seen her in years. Also I’ve just watched this interview of Robin from 2007 saying her acting on Santa Barbara was really bad. But I enjoyed a lot her interview even if I don’t like the santa Barbara segment. Just to see Marcy in public after ages is going to be such a charm....Hope all is well with her, she didn't attend the All My Children one did she?...Wouldn't have been as special without her, A has been wishing for this for so long in all his interviews...Hope there are videos for us fans ...

Members whitelighter72
I don't think 'Channing' is a very common first name. Do you think it's likely that it was a family name? Perhaps CC's mother's or grandmother's maiden name. Edited July 7, 2024 by whitelighter72
Members j swift
According to thebump(dot)com Channing is a gender-neutral name of English and Irish origin. It’s derived from a 17th-century Irish last name, Ó Canain, which comes from cann, meaning “wolf cub.” Wolves are known to be loyal and intelligent, which bodes well for baby as they find their path and pack in life. So, there's some literary symbolism in the name, as he was the favorite son of CC (a wolf of wall street). FYI, obviously wolf of wall street came out years after SB, but you get my point... Members MarcyWalkerFan
In my repeat viewing of SB am struck by how much ahead of its times this soap was for the 80's especially on television, was too young to comprehend when it got aired initially, They have included the below (albeit not accurately at all times) social issues in their story lines, 1) LGBT acceptance bias (Channing/ Lindsay) 2) Interracial dynamics (Cruz/Eden) 3) Child abuse (Christie storyline) 4) Rape (Well...) 5) Date Rape (When No means No) As I mentioned some of the above story lines were not perfect but full marks for trying.
Members DRW50
Very true. It's a shame they never followed up more with lgbt issues but compared to other soaps which never even had gay characters at the time, and did not for many more years, it's notable.
