IA for the most part with what you said. I'm not ready to say I love both the actor and the character but I'll go with I love the acting and I don't have issue with the character (primarily because of the acting). He should be a lead.

And to JP, I get where you're coming from regarding the character of Ric having done these dreadful things. There might have been a time during my soap watching experience that I might have felt the same way. For some reason the way I look at soaps have changed and the performance trumps the "evil" ways of the character now.

Even though I may post this or that about soaps, I can't take them seriously because they're written in a manner that basically insults the intelligence. Some may be a step up from others but overall, the writing says the viewers are not too smart and they'll accept anything. Instead of being irritated by the writing, I try to go more with the performance. The main exception may be when I'm used to certain characters who have been around so long, I may not notice the performance unless it's better or worse than I'm used to seeing. Another exception for me is Claudia. I like what Sarah Brown is doing with what she's given because she seems to be having fun with it, I just find Claudia to be a useless character if she is to be long term. If she's short term then no problem because they won't bother trying to undo the evil or make excuses for her actions just to make her more acceptable. Oh and I still don't think the mob thing works.

Kate had the better line though, especially based on what the viewers have been shown. For now, Sonny is the one groveling to keep Kate and Claudia is the one pursuing Sonny contrary to the tough front they have her putting on. If what she said to Sonny during their ONS were true then she wouldn't still be the one trying to get with him to the point that she has to seek out Kate to try and torment her.

i almost never care about crimes people commit on soaps and them sticking around not being punished, but certin things i cant get over. most of it involves harm to a child. but the ric thing is this. i LOVED TB's Carly. LOVED LOVED LOVED her. and this dude comes in and tortures her then chins her to a wall prego to steal her baby and he is drugging Liz, my other fave. so i have massive hate. and the fact he slept with sam didnt help, lol.

i am over trying to like sarah brown and jumping onto the jb is love bandwagon. i have tried for months. i cant do it anymore. shes all giddy and loling and smiling all the time. i dont blame her, her storyline sucks and her char is horrid, but still. shes like NL as ghost emily.

He is portrayed so well enough to get me to feel momentarily sorry for him and his daddy issues. I don't even care that he slept with Sam. If Sarah Brown were playing Sam, she might get me to momentarily feel sorry for Sam too.

I'm not on the SB bandwagon either but I think she's making a bad role work as best she can. I think she's probably tailor made for bad but vulnerable. I still find the character useless but for the short term, she's entertaining enough. I'd probably even like the character if she were cold and detached. She'd actually be more acceptable me if she'd shoot Trevor herself instead of all that tough talking they have her doing.

The Maxie/Kate/Claudia scenes were good, but the rest of the episode? Was one big Mob pimpage. Beloved characters were torn down in order to prop up Scummy, Snarly and Jesus. Again. <_<

I mean, HOW many times are we going to see Monica apologize to everybody for being such a "terrible and hypocritical" human being? Seeing her bow and scrape in front of Jason and that stuck-up, freeloading snot Lulu was cringe-worthy.

And seeing Diane (Diane! Whom I love!) say to Jason "Defending you and Sonny is one thing, but drunk-driving? Monica should have the book thrown at her etc etc." DUI is a horribly selfish, reckless thing to do and should be punished to the full extent of the law. But shouldn't murder and generally being part of the Mob which is involved in prostitution and the drugs trade also be punished soundly?!

Robin's reaction to Carly's miscarriage was very sympathetic. But I wonder what Carly would be saying to Robin if Robin had been the one to lose her baby.

BTW, is it just me or does anybody feel that TPTB really rushed through Carly's miscarriage like it was something pretty inconsequential? It was over within an episode last week, and Carly was all "It is what it is. Time to move on" on Tuesday. I know she cried yesterday 'n stuff but it all feels a little flippant and superficial somehow.

And of course, the constant excusing of Michael and Scummy's mob influence on his son. Even Jax backtracked yesterdayfrom last week's GREAT rant and gave in to Carly's pandering, while Kate is acting like all she got was a bruise.

Guess Guza is back in the driving seat.
