Wasn't Nikki married or engaged to Jill's brother Greg at one point? There's a funny clip on youtube from the day of Nikki and Victor's first wedding. The Abbotts are getting ready to attend, and Jill (in the form of Brenda Dickson) makes some comment to John in a very snooty tone, something like "can you believe he's marrying a stripper?," causing Ashley to roll her eyes at that comment. Nikki and Jill's history should definitely be explored. A few weeks ago, it looked like they were tossing Jill into the David/Nikki orbit after she spied David and Walter talking at Crimson Lights, but they seemed to drop that.

Do you guys recall the episodes when Nikki first took over Jabot and Jill made all those remarks about how hard it was to see someone else run Jabot and how she has a hard time letting go of it? Remember that interview last week with the anonymous Y&R actor who though the new writer's were trying to stick it to Latham by doing things she wouldn't do? Is the Jabot scenario in reference to Latham changing Y&R's historical style and trying to rid it of its Bell-influence? Seems like it to me, but I could be reading too deep into things. LOL!

I noticed that too but and with Brad always going over David's head at Jabot and Nikki basically pissing on Jill, I could see them getting closer and jill and Nikki fighting. Or better yet, hook Jill up with Victor and watch Nikki seeth.

LOVE feisty Jill. Now it's time to just GIVE JESS WALTON A REAL STORYLINE.

Can't wait to see Nikki and Jill really go at it. I want to see a MAJOR PHYSICAL CATFIGHT. Slapping, hair pulling, desk over turning, glass broken...the kind Y&R used to do so well!

Also, I found the Kay/Amber memoir thing interesting, I'm hoping MAB is going in the direction of undoing the hellish "Baby Switch" too. Regardless did anyone else notice how decked out Jeanne Cooper was? Girlfriend got herself some major canary 'blood' diamonds (take THAT LML).

Don Diamont must be having fun, this is how Brad is supposed to be, Don's doing wonderfully now that he's back to being a slithering SOB.

There's just something that has always kept me from rooting for Brad. The only time I was actually in his corner was during his marriage to Ashley, coupled with her obsession for Victor. I too like villains, but more multi-layered ones like Sheila Carter (FIRST TIME AROUND) and Tricia Dennison. Matt Clarke was cool too. Loved him leaving Nicholas to burn like that lol.

I agree. its about damn time for a good old catfight, Y&R style.

I like the kay/Amber stuff, and also hope they undo that horrid plot storyline of kay is jills mother. And when i saw the dimonds i thought, ha f you LML!

I agree. But the writers do need give brad another layer. he needs a friend to talk to and be a normal human with... hello Lauren!

Watching today's show.....kind of slow today...do love Jill's snark at Nikki... I'll always back Jill before I back up Nikki, so I hope they keep having Jill/Nikki scenes.... I seriously think Nikki is going to mess up while in that position.

Boring Cane and Lily scenes; but I am loving seeing Lily slowly self-destructing herself by scarfing down anything she sees... I much rather have her in a storyline where she's not 'baby-talking' to the latest man in her life....so her possible pressures to be a model interest me.

Jeez, why are people so up-in-arms about the "Blood Diamonds" thing? Millions of people die over that ish and I'd never want to feature that piece of jewelry on my show either. It's really sickening.

But, again, Phyllis's ring has nothing to do with how bad Y&R got over the last few years. I really hope people con't to abhor Latham's job at Y&R because of her atrocious writing and not because of petty things like bottled water and pink engagement rings.

And I did like Phyllis's ring. It was different LOL.

So comes the plot of using the 'Ghost of John' against Gloria...Wonder if Jeffrey will immediately hop on board for that or if he does, will he eventually back out due to his feelings for Gloria...

I can see already the connection with Jill and Nikki's talk about the Fresh Faces of Jabot/Chloe to the deterioration of Lily...Lily's going to be a defiant little something and do whatever to be the best little model that she can be (in the unhealthy sense)....I personally would have LOVED to have seen Colleen (Adrianne Leon) in a storyline like this.....

The only thing that had my attention was the Jill/Nikki squabbling....everything else was FF for me or just a glance/listen moment.

I think the minute they try to use the ghost of John is when they discover the John look-alike...This is going to be a mess; I can see it....I hope to God they don't have it where eventually they phase John's look-alike as a permanent fixture on the show (ala Gloria falling for him)...

    • Do I promise that I left that conversation? Yeah, sure, if you want to call it a promise. It just wasn't going anywhere. It's also not a big deal.
    • What do you mean?  Sarah told Xander about the drug as soon as she found out about it, and before eating the scone.   She also told Xander not to buy the hospital in March because the impending lawsuits from the sabotaged set of Body & Soul would eventually lower the price of the hospital. (one assumes Bonnie and Justin's lawsuits have been forgotten) In fact, she called it a money pit at the time, and now she and her daughter stand to make a fortune. Just as, she knew that Philip's claim to the fortune were both fraudulent, and a good distraction to keep Xander from making a bid until the time was right... Even more proof that Dr. Sarah Horton-Kirakis is the true evil genius of Salem.
    • Now what was I just talking about? lol. I was not expecting to see Jacob today.    VERNON!!!!!!! LOL.
    • No Tea. No Shade. Just facts. Oooo...Kat vs Eva...the gift that keeps on giving.   I can't believe we are getting friction between Andre and Nicole. That said...loving these scenes.
    • LOL!!! We have no reason to think they are not hygienic!!!
    • Annnnd it's time!!!   Oooo more developing of the Anita story.   Bill and these hand moments.   OOOOOOOOO...it's a Jazmen episode!!!   So Nicole is hitting the anger part of her grief, I see.    Hehe. TIDE sighting!!
    • -- Kai spends more time in the hospital than anyone I know. I've never seen a patient held back from being discharged like this guy. -- All this concern over Lulu's adoption story is wild. Just what in the hell in that story will upset people? Am I missing something?
    • Except she was the last to know yesterday
    • While I'm waiting for the new episode to start...let's talk about yesterday's episode.   I honestly really loved it. THIS is what I mean when I talk about how there should be an A story that is dealing with its fallout while the next A story is being built. And then there was even a C plot going on.    The fallout from the Silk Press Sheila/Eva reveal continued. And there were so many elements in play. Beats were being played. And I loved every moment of it. Ted/Eva defiantly going to the country club and being more successful at it than Bill&Hayley. I love that Ted is willing to fight for his marriage. I really want to see where it goes. I didn't like the town gossip, cuz we already have one in Nosy Nurse, but she did keep the tension up. The Nicole/Dani dynamic as sisters being in play...and I'll be in the minority and say that while Dani was Dani, I didn't find her being self-absorbed at all in those scenes. She has already been established as being willing to go there. For herself. AND her sister. So her going in on Ted and Eva was like her. Her dragging her sister out of the house was also like her. No problems. And I can't say how much I loved Jan getting her moment with Silk Press Sheila. Not to mention how much I LOOOOOOVE the showdown between SilkPress and Eva at Orpheny Gene in front of everybody!!!! Giving old school soap. And SilkPress's warning she got more up her sleeve (with a snap) was delicious. And awww at Martin comforting Eva. Kat ain't going to like that.   Speaking of Martin...IT'S HAPPPPENIIIIINGGGGGG!!! Now we are getting words from the night in question. So good to see them FINALLY building out that OTHER A story they started. And good on Martin for backing out from the presidency. I already said I love that the writers found a plausible reason for him to back out. The plot point served its purpose...to get a sense of Martin's personality. Now that he's been built up so we know what to expect from him, no need for it. Moreso since SilkPress's presence will continue to trigger that secret right out of him. Fingers crossed.   And while all that goodness was going on...we got a B plot in the form of Doug/Joey/Vanessa. I like it. It's been allowed to grow. All POVs have been seen except for Joey's really. So seeing him put Doug on the hook officially (so this should be climaxing by end of May then since Doug has one week?) because he wants Doug to move money through Vanessa's business. I continue to wonder where it will go now that I know (and apparently missed it) what Joey's endgame is. I mean...will Doug do it? Will Joey get payback on Vanessa? Or will Vanessa fall into Joey's bed? I feel the show has done a good job developing Doug and Vanessa enough that I am invested in the story. Sidenote...ask and I shall receive aka Dani/Vanessa brief moment at the country club. I really miss them together.    As for the C plot...well...I'm in the minority as well. I actually liked the Ashley/Derek scenes. Not cuz the typical soap himbo scenes...lol...but it was just a nice counterpoint from the other stories going on. And it was just nice to have an episode with A, B, and C stories going on and NOT be jarring and ALSO no quick cuts to another scene. It FLOWED. I actually like Ashley and while her last appearances in solo Derek scenes were DOA, I felt there was more going on. At least this time. It was building on what was already growing...Ashley's annoyance at Derek moving in. Derek...being a typical guy. I am hoping that will go somewhere. And I love that we got another Jan/Ashley scene. At the moment, it's the only thing giving us a clue to Ashley's inner life. That said...I really do want to see her out of her story bubble. There's so much potential with her and her career as a nurse. Moreso given what's going on there.    As for the mysterious stranger...well...I wonder how they are going to play it. Since most of us (but not all so not discussing it farther) know a bit about him.    As for the coda...it is bittersweet now knowing it was Maurice's last scenes. I mean...what do you all think? A nice point for him to stop? We got to see Eva accepting by the father she always wanted to be with since Day 1. Nicole looks on. Quite soapy.
