Yeah, Todd defintely lost his mind when he attacked Cole, but he thought Cole raped Starr. I understood what he was thinking. Sure he was wrong to see raise his hand to Starr, but I didn't mind that, as long as he didn't go overboard and hit her, and I liked that Blair threatened to take away the children if did that again. Damn, those scene were intense. Kudos to TSJ, KA and KDP.

Totally intense!! I am barely in the middle of watching this show and had to come post about , WOW what a great eppy so far and the acting is great from everyone but Cole, sorry still do not care for him.

It seems to me that Todd is calling rape because he is recalling what he did to Marty when he was a teen. Notice he said asked Starr how many were there? Todd was definately out of it until Blair yelled at him and said "look what you are doing to our daughter!" After that he seemed to snap out of it and walked out....

To be continued...will report back on the other half hour later.... damn this is good!

I don't think Todd really thought Cole raped her. I think he was having his own flashbacks to his own sins. I think he snapped.

It was great drama IMO. I also loved the Clint and Lindsey scenes and want to see where the BE story and that quad is going.

Todd...has lost....his....FLIPPIN MIND!!!!!

And I love it! I was wondering what it would take for him to do it. Todd has been more than understanding of Cole & Starr's relationship. But when he realized Starr with with Cole, he immediately thought the worse. He wasn't sure if they were going to run away or not. His most immediate thought was getting to his daughter, god help the person who stood in his way.

He beat the hell out of Cole. Given the situation Todd found his daughter in, I can see why. Todd immediately thought something bad happened to Starr. It's the same thing he was afraid of the night Cole roid raged on Starr.

I'm watching this now....I just got done seeing Starr cry to Blair. I really feel no sympathy for her..... Todd didn't do anything to her. He beat the hell out of her boyfriend. He "ruined" her chance of giving it up to Cole? Yeah...I'm really supposed to feel bad for her. Whatever....

Todd completely lost his mind today and although I hate John and it pains me to say...but SOMEONE had to knock Todd on his behind from beating up Cole. I mean seriously.

The Starr and Blair scene was awesome...the Starr and Todd scene was awesome...all around good show for the Mannings. Starr is every bit of Todd and Blair mixed together.

Oh and Todd has lost his ever loving mind...when he looks at Cole, he sees himself plain and simple.

I'm sorry, I can't say that I wouldn't have reacted the same way if I found my daughter with an older boy. I knew when I was a teen, that if I was caught by my girlfriend's father, I would have gotten my ass kicked. That's a chance ALL boys take when they're with a girl. Todd just happened to go through with his threat.

Wow this Todd thing actually ahs me VERY excited. If done well it could bring up some major isses--like in Todd's head even though he's no longer the rapist he was, he still sees sex as some sort of power/control issue and doesn't want Starr to be a "victim" of that--his mind is still very warped about it all.

ITA. I totally understood what Todd did. Like you Ryan, I can't say I wouldn't have done something thing to Cole. If you mess around with daddy's little girl, you mess with daddy himself. Also, Todd has a history with rape so that was going through his mind too.

I love this type of family drama. I don't get to see it often on soaps.

    • Now what was I just talking about? lol. I was not expecting to see Jacob today.    VERNON!!!!!!! LOL.
    • No Tea. No Shade. Just facts. Oooo...Kat vs Eva...the gift that keeps on giving.   I can't believe we are getting friction between Andre and Nicole. That said...loving these scenes.
    • LOL!!! We have no reason to think they are not hygienic!!!
    • Annnnd it's time!!!   Oooo more developing of the Anita story.   Bill and these hand moments.   OOOOOOOOO...it's a Jazmen episode!!!   So Nicole is hitting the anger part of her grief, I see.    Hehe. TIDE sighting!!
    • -- Kai spends more time in the hospital than anyone I know. I've never seen a patient held back from being discharged like this guy. -- All this concern over Lulu's adoption story is wild. Just what in the hell in that story will upset people? Am I missing something?
    • Except she was the last to know yesterday
    • While I'm waiting for the new episode to start...let's talk about yesterday's episode.   I honestly really loved it. THIS is what I mean when I talk about how there should be an A story that is dealing with its fallout while the next A story is being built. And then there was even a C plot going on.    The fallout from the Silk Press Sheila/Eva reveal continued. And there were so many elements in play. Beats were being played. And I loved every moment of it. Ted/Eva defiantly going to the country club and being more successful at it than Bill&Hayley. I love that Ted is willing to fight for his marriage. I really want to see where it goes. I didn't like the town gossip, cuz we already have one in Nosy Nurse, but she did keep the tension up. The Nicole/Dani dynamic as sisters being in play...and I'll be in the minority and say that while Dani was Dani, I didn't find her being self-absorbed at all in those scenes. She has already been established as being willing to go there. For herself. AND her sister. So her going in on Ted and Eva was like her. Her dragging her sister out of the house was also like her. No problems. And I can't say how much I loved Jan getting her moment with Silk Press Sheila. Not to mention how much I LOOOOOOVE the showdown between SilkPress and Eva at Orpheny Gene in front of everybody!!!! Giving old school soap. And SilkPress's warning she got more up her sleeve (with a snap) was delicious. And awww at Martin comforting Eva. Kat ain't going to like that.   Speaking of Martin...IT'S HAPPPPENIIIIINGGGGGG!!! Now we are getting words from the night in question. So good to see them FINALLY building out that OTHER A story they started. And good on Martin for backing out from the presidency. I already said I love that the writers found a plausible reason for him to back out. The plot point served its purpose...to get a sense of Martin's personality. Now that he's been built up so we know what to expect from him, no need for it. Moreso since SilkPress's presence will continue to trigger that secret right out of him. Fingers crossed.   And while all that goodness was going on...we got a B plot in the form of Doug/Joey/Vanessa. I like it. It's been allowed to grow. All POVs have been seen except for Joey's really. So seeing him put Doug on the hook officially (so this should be climaxing by end of May then since Doug has one week?) because he wants Doug to move money through Vanessa's business. I continue to wonder where it will go now that I know (and apparently missed it) what Joey's endgame is. I mean...will Doug do it? Will Joey get payback on Vanessa? Or will Vanessa fall into Joey's bed? I feel the show has done a good job developing Doug and Vanessa enough that I am invested in the story. Sidenote...ask and I shall receive aka Dani/Vanessa brief moment at the country club. I really miss them together.    As for the C plot...well...I'm in the minority as well. I actually liked the Ashley/Derek scenes. Not cuz the typical soap himbo scenes...lol...but it was just a nice counterpoint from the other stories going on. And it was just nice to have an episode with A, B, and C stories going on and NOT be jarring and ALSO no quick cuts to another scene. It FLOWED. I actually like Ashley and while her last appearances in solo Derek scenes were DOA, I felt there was more going on. At least this time. It was building on what was already growing...Ashley's annoyance at Derek moving in. Derek...being a typical guy. I am hoping that will go somewhere. And I love that we got another Jan/Ashley scene. At the moment, it's the only thing giving us a clue to Ashley's inner life. That said...I really do want to see her out of her story bubble. There's so much potential with her and her career as a nurse. Moreso given what's going on there.    As for the mysterious stranger...well...I wonder how they are going to play it. Since most of us (but not all so not discussing it farther) know a bit about him.    As for the coda...it is bittersweet now knowing it was Maurice's last scenes. I mean...what do you all think? A nice point for him to stop? We got to see Eva accepting by the father she always wanted to be with since Day 1. Nicole looks on. Quite soapy.
    • I love the thought of Eva becoming this huge celebrity hairstylist, and the future character crossover that can happen with fun cameos, too.
    • I assume the target audience is as distracted as I am by the plot hole that University Hospital does not own a means of production for Versavix, and that's where the profits are found. Researchers at publicly funded universities can profit from successful drug discoveries, but it is often a small percentage compared to the profits of the pharmaceutical company.  Thus, it makes no sense why both Xander and EJ would try to buy the hospital (and its right to the invention).  As opposed to buying a pharmaceutical company, which would make exponentially more profit from Versavix, as well as the many patents that they now own on Dr. Rolf's research!   And, that if Xander benefitted from his wife's knowledge about a drug being researched at her hospital, and one day later he made a bid for said hospital, that's called fraud as it is akin to insider trading. For example, if my husband was a real estate agent, and he told me to buy this undervalued property because he knew there was a $1,000,000 diamond buried under the toilet.  That would be fraud, because his duty would be to get the best price for his client.  But, if he would directly profit, because as my husband he would get half of the profits from the diamond, that's fraud.  And that's what Sarah did. She waited until the hospital was worth nothing to tell her husband to buy now for cheap, because it will be worth a fortune in future due to the drug (information she thought nobody knew but Kayla). Thus, she profits from the University's misfortune.  And once again, Sarah is the true evil mastermind of Salem.
