Regardless of how "shocking" it is or isn't, Mitch as Jessica's father was a sore point for a lot of viewers. I expect Jess will turn out to be a Buchanan in order to give that back to the audience, and that Rex will be Mitch's son. That's enough for me.

I also highly doubt Charlie or Jared are Buchanans.

I watched the show in passing today, so here goes a few observations.

I realized that most of the women of Llanview are now crazy. Sigh.

Nora and Lindsay's scenes felt ... they weren't as easy as they usually were. I wasn't expecting to see them together and not feel they're back and forth was natural.

The cliffhanger was good. I like the guy who plays Jared.

OLTL is on fire....

I loved Jared/Allison stuff. That little scene between Charlie and Jared just rocked!!!

Lindsay and Nora being catty- so them.

Bo taking charge even though he is not in charge- classic. Ramsey scrambling and barking orders- too funny!!

Dorian and Roxy reading the secrets. I wish they would have found a really good one. Loved Dorian being snarky to Vicki- classic.

Starr/Cole/Langston/Markko- ok they need some more drama.

My Todd and Blair were sassy today. I loved the teasing and the family scenes. I loved how Todd and Blair kept getting interruped. I hope we get some Todd and Blair loving tomorrow!!

Chris and Sarah- Yuck, yuck, and more yuck!!!

Really enjoyed all the stuff at the Go Red Ball. Alot of drama going on there.

Got a kick out of Dorian and Roxy sitting on the floor reading everyone's secrets. Priceless.

Loved the Manning Family togetherness.

Could care less about Cris/Sarah. Find them beyond boring.

I have to wonder, while Jessica was hanging onto Charlie's legs so he wouldn't go over as well, did she hear what he was saying to Jared?

Finally got a chance to watch today (tuesday) eppy, the ball is heating up! Damn that was good!!!

From Jared's red face and veins popping out of his forehead while clinging for his life to Charlies sweat dripping off his forehead trying to pull his son up, loved it!

Dorian and Roxy filtering through the secrets was funny, but what was funnier was Roxy kicking off her shoes on Rex and Adriana's table and ever so casually mentioning Jared clinging for his life. Now that was hillarious

Todd/Blair family scenes was a nice touch to offset all the drama going on and it did not stray to far from what was happening at the ball since all the s/l's are intertwined.

The teens were eh as was Cris and Sarah. Cris and Sarah are still boring but not as boring, at least one couple is gonna get some.

My FAVORITE SCENE by far today was Dorian, she is such a conniving BITCH but I love it!!

Roxy to Dorian: "So, all the secrets are gone, poof"

Dorian: "Yeah sure"

LMAO, I bet Dorian not only took the surveillance tape but she also took the BOX of SECRETS!!!!!!

God, I so wanted someone to take a handful of those secrets and stuff them in Dorian's mouth so that Jared could come clean. I honestly don't understand what Dorian's motivation is with stopping Jared, I mean she isn't getting anything out of, right. So what's the deal?

I like Antonio and Talia alot.

The dialogue for Cris and Sarah was AWFUL.

I don't get the deal with Dorian stopping Jared either.

.

That last scene with Jared and Natalie break my heart-I can really tell they really love each other. I want this part of their story over yesterday, as the feeling dirty for liking them will go away. LOL

I enjoyed Antoinia and Talia

    • One of the dumbest situations (Lando) ever. What audience member is going to invest in a storyline with a recast they don't like and a triangle where one character is short-term? It bombed as it should have done. So much of JFP's tenure just reeks of desperation. I don't get how someone could produce SB (which did have flaws but was often brilliant) but make so many terrible mistakes at GL.   I still think JFP would have worked better as a director and music supervisor. Her music work at SB was top notch.

    • We see the same with GH, where Mark Teschner, the casting director, reportedly has less say since Frank Valentini took over. Some producers want to take over every aspect of their shows.  I think Lando may have been a CBS push.
    • No idea but she won Emmys & she was the Casting Director at the same time for both ATWT & GL. She hired Lisa Brown with no job for her. Then Marland made Brown his muse so he created both Iva & Nola for her. But, I think we know that Jill does what Jill wants.
    • I did notice a decline in the quality of the performers being cast once Betty R vacated/retired from her position. We would have been spared from the nightmares of some of the castings that dominated the show in the last decade or so of the soap. JFP was an example of someone, no matter the gender, who had no business being in the position they were in.
    • If Betty Rea was the casting director, why was so much of GL during JFP's reign cast by her? Walker, Deas, Crampton, Lando, etc. JFP takes credit for Dusay as well. What is the point of having a casting director, if you don't let her do her job? What happened when Rea left?
    • So much on here slips my mind but this is the first I remember hearing of Peterson's passing. Very sad. Nell was a thankless role, clearly set up for a cheating storyline with Frank, but Peterson did her best.  Betty Rea Rea was the casting director for the soap opera “Guiding Light” from 1970 to 1996 and simultaneously the casting director for “As the World Turns” from 1979 to 1983.
    • Sorry, just one more post on the Thorntons. How did Ruth and Edna feel about each other prior to Tad dating Dotty?
    • I can't remember exactly but I think it may be 1995 as Jake was trying to hide from a loan shark.
