We don't need more Nick and Brooke. He was always dragging her around by her arm like a caveman, which I don't see as a romantic gesture.

unless they bring on a new man, Nick is a lot better option than Ridge

So if they are going to do this Taylor and Rick stuff, have they at least spent any time on Phoebe's reaction to it?

Shhhhh, the scab writers don't know that Taylor has any other kids. Lets keep it that way.

Not exactly. As I understood Hinsey public Alden outing (Damn it, she Miss Alden did not even get a "Ellen"-worthy public announcement ;) ), Alden did not go "FiCo" (which I find HIGHlarious BTW considering that she & hubby must be as rich as Dagobert Duck) initally. It was a very recent development because the scabs writing dialogue since Jan 8th (?) episode and even writing outlines now that breakdowns ran out as of Jan 22, meant that nothing more some notes possibly by Brad Bell were still on the table.

Now Alden either took the fall for Brad or volunteered to stear B&B through these strike waters. I don't expect B&B to have complete Alden style with multiple stories untill mid-February as the very earliest.

And whether she took the fall or volunteered, it's quite possible Alden has some kind of commitment for a reward down the line for stepping in. B&B's the one soap on the air that really runs their own ship without some form of connection to a larger corporate entity, so the Bells could make sure she'd be taken care of in some manner jobwise - like you said, she doesn't need the money - once the strike is over.

That said: I'm still 8 episodes behind but this will change tomorrow when it's catch-up time after my recent vacation. Therefore no sheepish James for me yet. James would be perfect in a quadrangle of Stephers/Eric/Donna BTW...

In one interview, Ian Buchanan said he'd like to stay around for a while, but another said he had a commitment in New York that would require him to take leave of B&B after a short time. So I guess whether he stays depends on his current commitments. So far, we've only seen him with Taylor and Nick, but there are lots of other people he could get reacquainted with if they want. Since James treated Rick for a short time after Rick shot Grant, maybe they can revisit that and have Rick really come to terms with what he did back then (since they only skimmed it last year during the Shane shooting story).

No Ridge. No Brooke. This is an unusual week.

Ridge's screen time the last few weeks has for some reason been pretty minimal. He was absent for most of the time since the reveal of Storm as the shooter other than a few token appearances around Christmas. But he was around this week on Thursday and Friday for the dinner party. Those were also the only days Brooke was around as well, which is unusual, but she might be back in the mix more this week with her involvement in both the whole Taylor/Nick/Brooke/Ridge quadrangle and in her sister's story with Eric's plot to trick Stephanie.

Rick & Taylor... very intriguing! That whole confrontation on Weds episode was riveting. Taylor is obviously deluded if she's going for the "It was just one drink" argument. Then why spend so much time begging Rick not to tell Nick? Her husband would understand, I'm sure, one momentary lapse in sobriety.

I think so too. I thought they had some serious chemistry. I hope the show goes there. We know Rick likes them older. :P
