I could explain but I am not going to since the point of my post wasn't the definition of a community organizer. The point of my post is that people should be smart enough not to mock or laugh at or even attempt to compare two positions if they clearly do not know what one of them is. Your defense of Palin's statement is that she does not know what a community organizer is....therefore it's okay for her to negate the work of one since ignorance justifies it.....now if that's not what you're saying my point becomes moot. If she in fact does know what a community organizer is then she was mocking something that is of significance to many people.

If you are that curious about what you're defending Palin on then you will find out for yourself....and no, I'm not telling you what to do....I'm trying to employ a little logic in that if a person wants to know something, he/she will make every effort to find out about it.

It makes no difference if John McCain knows what the issues are when he chooses not to talk about them. It's like saying that Jane Smith has the cure to cancer.....if she's not talking then her knowledge isn't put to good use or any sort of use for that matter.

I post about the issues in this election. I dont tend to single out other posters (unless they have singled me out first). And I am not shy in letting it known that this is not the purpose of the thread. I just hope you realize that there are undecided voters that read this thread. When the see the behavior of Obama supporters I can only imagine it does not help your cause...

The topic in your mind is to complain about me "crying" or put down McCain? I haven't seen a positive post about Obama in days...You guys are on the offensive...Are things so bleak with the Obama campaign that you cant support his cause anymore? Thats what it would seem, because you would rather attack posters that disagree with you.

I have tried to look it up. There is no clear definition, (its not in websters and wikipedia's definition is very very broad) which has lead me to ask Obama supporters that seem to be very passionate about the work of community organizers. Funny to me that even they cant define it.

I have learned that Obama and Jesus were community organizers...Thats about it..

Wales, from what I have heard from you, you like to limit your news on the election to liberal blogs and MSNBC. Of course, they will not talk about McCain on issues..If you looked to more of a balanced source of information for McCain talking on issues you would find some.

I have seen McCain constantly talking about issues..more so than not...He talked about issues on the View yesterday. At every campaign rally he talks about issues

I don't think Obama is campaigning against Palin. I thinik the media gives the perception that he is since that's their major focus and they only care about any snippet that supports their fascination.

The issue for me isn't whether Palin can memorize a bunch of points.....can she understand them? She doesn't need to know everything under the sun and I'm sure she's capable of learning. She should enter the office with more than a basic level of some key issues and if she doesn't know certain things now that she should know on day one, then I don't see her cramming them all in before election day. She probably responded to most of his questions that way. Her response to the earmark question was convoluted and not much of a response. Earmarks are earmarks whether they are in the light of day or whatever nonsense she was spouting off.

I don't know if this has been posted already but this is a Newsweek article on how members of the GOP are using the ID law to keep people from voting in several states under the pretext of voter fraud, which isn't an individual voting problem. The Democrats should start launching programs to get these types of voters ID cards so that they don't face this problem in the future......and/or they should revisit the process.

Be advised that I'm not going to get into this defense of anything Obama game with you. Look up the video clip of Obama's bio that was shown at the DNC....that will illustrate for you what a community organizer does.

Someone previously took the time to explain it. The problem that I see with you is that when you don't agree with something then you mock it and you love to say how it's funny that Obama supporters can't do this or that in response to whatever you're asking. I don't think the discussion on this board focuses around pleashing you with their responses.

You may feel people are being rude to you but for the most part it is with provocation on your part. And you're not setting a good example either with remarks like this.

I went back on my decision to post with you after you had been snide with me because I wanted to do the right thing. I would still like to do the right thing and I now know the right thing to do is to ignore you completely. I don't mind having a civil debate/discussion with someone with whom I may or may not disagree but when the person takes on this role as victim it takes the joy out of it. What I get out of your posts is that it's okay for you to provoke since you're doing it under the guise of getting to the truth but when people respond then they're being rude, etc. Before you keep casting stones you should look at yourself as well.

The week in review: A bad one for Obama.

Fresh off the "Lipstick on a Pig" debacle and Joe Biden's "shoulda picked Hillary instead" comment, Barrack ended the week with a political ad making fun of McCain not knowing how to send an email... Again, a foot in the mouth moment for Obama. The Boston Globe reported eight years ago:

McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes.

Ha-ha-he-he... Let's make fun of the cripple! Ha-ha-he-he...

Seriously, I absolutely agree with the concerns raised earlier here about the people running Obama's campaign. An ad complaining about McCain's lack of internet savvy? It may not be intended as an ageist attack, but it certainly comes off that way and, as lots of women are pissed off over the treatment of Palin by media (Charlie Gibson, anyone?), the elderly will respond the same way should the Obama campaign continue to make McCain's age an issue.

Okay, so... WHY? So, I know that McCain going on ABC's "The View" is like immersing himself into a tank of piranhas, but there is certainly a glimmer of hope that a candidate's interview with the news division would yield questioning of a tone matching that given to the opposition. I actually thought Charlie was better than that. I was reading posts on an industry message board I sometimes visit (broadcast tv journalists and other industry professionals) and the general consensus was the interview was badly edited... nowhere close to network broadcast standards... and that Charlie's demeanor was ridiculously authoritarian.

Instead of tolerating this sort of thing, I think candidate's should take on the interviewer and call them on their foolishness... Would have been the headline of the entire dreary interview.

LOL! Thats what I would expect from a desperate campaign. I thought the Obama camp would be able to ride out the McCain surge with level heads. They seem to be in panic mode now. I think it is only making things worse for them.

I wish everyone whether it be the media, people that post here, both campaigns, and voters would just calm down and relax. This is important, we are picking the leader of the free world here. This should be about the issues (for the billionth time). It shouldn't matter that McCain cant come his hair, Obama thinks Palin is a pig, or Bristol is pregnant..

Charlie made me nervous....it looked more like he was a tough boss giving a job interview, than fair journalism. I think Bill O'Reily treated BO better than Gibson treated Palin...

I think the responses are a little slower fro the Obama camp, because they have to be careful how they phrase things, so they don't give the media or the McCain campaign fodder. I also thing it's better if the Obama campaign stays somewhat above the muck and let's the McCain campaign do all the mudslinging, as they've been doing since the convention. All we've heard for the Republican ticket is attacks and barely anything positive and I think that plays well for Obama.

I don't see anything unfair that he asked Sarah Palin. The difference is, Obama has been in the Senate and sat on the Foreign Relations committee, he has a good grasp on issues of foreign affairs, Palin hasn't had any sort of real experience with that, so naturally she would be asked more questions on foreign affairs.
