And I'm not denying what you and Wales are saying ... we elect based on delegates, not popular vote. I think it's a flawed system, but it's the one we have. What I am pointing out is the fact that there was an uproar when George W. Bush went into office the first time by winning the electoral college and not the popular vote, and I think most people on here probably remember that. There were even long debates and discussions on CNN, MSNBC, etc. about how the electoral college needed to be abolished.

The entire PV argument is flawed because it relies on not counting caucuses. It's a nominating system, caucuses count and their votes get awarded. Parties and members should get to pick their nominees, not independents and members of the other party. I admit, I think the system may have picked better nominees prior to primaries.

You know history was made tonight. It's nice that the United States has finally crossed that bridge.

I don't think Hillary gave a very good speech, and I was hoping for more from her. I really don't think she had to concede though. However, I continue to blame that on her advisors. I really do wish she had used her own people rather than Bill's. Had she not taken the nomination for granted going into Super Tuesday, tonight might have made history for her rather than Obama.

I said huge upset but I played along since you mentioned that it wasn't a landslide.

If I had complained back then I would probably complain today. I went along with the electoral college thing and I go along with the delegate thing. Whatever the established rules are, whether I agree with them or not, I try to go along.

There are too many different figures that I've seen on the popular vote for me to take notice of it. People voted in caucuses and their votes are not counted in the popular vote. I can't focus on something that is that fuzzy and not truly representative of the total vote.

I will agree as well, even if it was a joke, the Fords Theatre reference was in poor taste, and as much as many of us loathe GWB, wishing his murder is not something that should be discussed in a public forum that includes people who support his views.

Cool. That makes me feel better, just the fact that you are consistent.

Because, while I agree with what many are saying, I remember clearly the uproar over George W., and my concern is simply that people not be hypocritical. Like, it makes me queasy to think of people who were up in arms over the popular vote being denied at that time not caring now, simply because they are Obama fans.

And I think a lot of people feel that the electoral college is flawed and archaic, just as you think the popular vote is fuzzy and not truly representative.

Because, really, to me, every vote should count ... and that should be the way of it.

I might be unhappy tonight (miserable, in fact, LOL), but I am happy on behalf of the Obama supporters, because it really is big night for all of you.
