Judging by the previews, it's nothing to brag about. It sounds like the show is staying stagnant and noting big is happening. <_<

I'll give her until mid-summer before she officially enters my hack list.

We'll have to see if the writing team is as big and consists of Latham's leftovers by the end of the year I guess to judge on that.

Weren't you one of her biggest fans??:P I didnt think she was all that great. The show is a bore right now. I havent seen changes. We still have storylines and characters that suck. The whole Lily pregnant story by Cane is absurd. Cane should go. They changed history for this??? Cane is so dull and boring.

When you've watched Latham's material for two years, anything is better. I still think the characterization and scene flowage is a lot better than it was. I sure as hell wouldn't take Latham back over her, if I had to choose.

I'll give her some time, as I said before, she's still stuck with some of Latham's left-overs on screen and Latham's leftovers on the writing team.

If B&E are let go, I'm crossing my fingers that Agnes will have a firm hand this time in picking the new HW(s). From rumors I've read on this board and others, she's already pretty involved with things, from steering the Jesse/Angie story, to consulting on the Erica prison story, to personally calling Cady to ask her to do the ghost episodes. If all of this is true and she's been essentially consulting with the show, she'll probably be involved in the choice. One big question in all of this is, how has Carruthers lasted so long? Even if she has no story input at all, which has been rumored but is tough to believe, and is only dealing with the aesthetics of the show, her run would still be considered a failure.

OLTL probably has a lower budget than AMC but looks really good, including their outdoor sets. Even ATWT and DAYS look good despite budget cuts. AMC's failure is in having a piss poor Executive Producer. Money has absolutely nothing to do with how awful the set design, wardrobe (ERICA KANE anyone?!), makeup, score, etc. is.

The sad thing is we have a show with pathetic writing, and pathetic production values. The production values wouldn't be so glaring if we actually had decent writing.... which no soap really has at the moment

On the one hand, AMC's production values have been lacking for a long time. They were horrible under Jean Burke, they were horrible under Francesca James and they weren't even that great under Felicia Behr. Maybe AMC doesn't have the higher budget between it and OLTL? OLTL has such large, rich sets and it's strange because AMC and OLTL have had the same set designer since 2001.

On the other hand, I expected Julie to improve the look of the show and she has not. Port Charles looked fine and we know it didn't have alot of money.

I honestly think things will suck until she can replace most of LML's writers. Also, she has a lot of Latham and Griffith's leftovers to deal with right now for the show to be really good. Don't get me wrong, I'd take it over Latham, but nothing major is happening on the show. Everything is stagnant.

Also, the show is undergoing YET ANOTHER TRANSITION, it will be months I think before it can be solid. Y&R really needs to trim its writing team, its obviously hindering the show's progress.

Things started going downhill production wise in 2003. The sets look so BAD! JHC has no creativity. Her time is up in the soap world. She may have down a decent job at Sanata Barbra/GH shes doing horrible at AMC. She needs to go.

Also if AMC had good writers it may distract some viewers from the horrible sets.
