Anything think Richard Culliton will come to OLTL to work with his wife (I think that Carolyn is his wife)? I know some AMC fans didn't like him when he wrote for AMC, but I think a Richard Culliton/Karen Harris team writing for GH will be good.

I hope so. They'll him and Leslie Nipkow when Fran Meyers, Jeanne Marie Ford, and Michelle Poteet Lisanti get the freakin boot!

Well I know there is a lot of friction right now between JFP and Guza. And according to what I was told by my source (which in the past has been correct), the writers strike probably saved Guza. I was also told that given the way things are at GH, Jill may go before Guza. I'm not very happy either way. A good EP with a hack writer still makes for a clusterscrew for the show.

Clusterscrew? We say clusterbleep in our house.

Wow...is this real? Might the logjam of JFP and/or Guza _finally_ be broken. Longterm stalwarts like Maurice Bernard and Anthony Geary CAN'T be happy. Couldn't one of them pull a Braeden at this point, and make some changes?

Even if people LOVED the HW/EP, wouldn't it seem time to infuse some new energy...if only to invigorate things?

I always thought that would happen - first Jill, then Guza! And I was right, apparently. It just seem logical to me.

But you're right - bad writer + good EP = pfff...

Richard and Karen wrote GH after Guza left the first time. Let's just say that Tony Geary wasn't a happy camper... LOL!

I don't see him back at GH. As for OLTL, I don't know, Richard is one of the best scriptwriters out there, but with all soaps downsizing who knows what will happen.

At this rate, I wouldn't give a feck if Geary was unhappy. He disappears for months at a time. It's not like really even had a story when he's there anyway, lol.

I thought Jill had very limited power at GH, especially since Frons came to ABC. You know, Jill is a funny case. She can be a splendid EP when the writing for her shows are outstanding, like at Santa Barbara and GL during the Nancy Curlee years (save Jill's dumbass move to kill Maureen).

However, when the writing for her shows sucks, like AW, OLTL, and GH, she tries to "invigorate" things and the shows end up sucking much more.

I'd be scared with Jill being fired. I wouldn't be surprised if old friend Steve Kent had her hired at Y&R, a show with weak writing at the moment where Jill would bulldoze everything with her vision.

I'm surprised that Jill and Guza aren't getting along. They both seem to share the same dark vision. A contrast to the Wendy Riche and Guza relationship, where those two couldn't stand one another.

But why does GH look so cheap these days? I mean, this woman is known for refined sets and excellent taste in music.

At least that "superficial" stuff should be taken care of.

Jill liked her extra power during the writers strike. She wasn't too happy when it was taken away when the Big G returned.

LOL I stopped caring what Tony Geary thinks years ago. ;)

Same here. It's obvious he's happy w/ the status quo.

Are you surprised? I think part of it has to do with Jill having almost no power there, well not to the extent that she had at SB, GL, AW, and OLTL. Also, GH wastes all of its money every year on crappy stunts and giving contracts to actors that they don't even utilize, so I can see why set improvement doesn't rank high on their list.

Anyone who saw Jill's years at SB, GL, AW, and OLTL knows how magnificent she is with production values.

Aside from Bill Bell Jr., isn't Jill the longest serving EP currently in daytime? 2001 she came in?

And GH has gotten steadily worse every year she has been there.

Corday is the longest serving EP, then Brad Bell, Chris Goutman has spent 9 years at ATWT. Jill's been at GH for over 7 years.

Jill and Goutman I believe.

No, not really, when I think about it...

I just think she should take a very long sabbatical or whatever... Never to be seen again.

What I hate is her authoritarianism and the need for total control, she just doesn't know how and when to stop!

In that way, she is similar to Rauch, although I believe Rauch used to be a much better producer (I mean his time with Lemay on AW).
