Two roles-same show

I'm thinking of performers who have had more than one role on a show.

Several actors have played twins or returned as lookalikes, but others have come back as completely new characters.

Days has done this several times:

Josh Taylor Chris/Roman

Judi Evans Adrienne/Bonnie/Adrienne

Wayne Northrup Roman/Alex

Bradley Cole was Richard then Jeffrey on GL

On Y&R,we have Ted Shackleford as Will and now Jeffrey

Can you think of other examples ?

On AW:

Beverlee McKinsey introduced the role of Emma Frame Ordway in May 1972, and then came back in December 1972 as Iris Wheeler.

Six years after leaving the role of Sam Fowler, Robert Kelker-Kelly returned to the show as Bobby Reno/Shane Roberts.

And I can't remember...was John Aprea's return as Alexander Nikos supposed to be a look-alike of Lucas?

And of course, many Dark Shadows actors played multiple characters in the show's various "time period" storylines. I guess some of them would be considered ancestral look-alikes of their modern day counterparts, and I don't know if any of them actually left the show and came back as a different character.

On ATWT Nicholas Coster played John Eldridge (Lisa's 2nd husband )in 1966.He was on the show,I believe, to wrap up the story that had been featured on Lisa's nightime spinoff Our Private World. He then played Eduardo in the 90's

Jordan Clarke played Tim Ryan in the mid 70's.

On AW Nikolas was supposed to be lookalike for Lucas, thus causing Felicia to be somewhat interested, despite her involvement with John.

Other performers who have been on shows more than once.

Joie Lenz- Clone Reva later played Michelle Bauer on GL

Christine Jones subbed for Erika Slezak before playing Pamela Buchanan on OLTL

John Considine played Vic Hastings in the mid 70's and then Reginald Love in the 80's on AW

Millette Alexander played 3 roles on Edge of Night.Gail Armstrong in the late 50's and then Laura and her lookalike in the 60's

On Y&R,Quinn Redeker played Nick,Nikki's father and later Rex,Gina and Danny's father.

Carolyn Conwell played Ron Becker(Peggy's rapist)mother before her role of Mary,Paul's mother.

Leigh J. McCloskey: Two roles on TWO soaps:

Dr. Zack Kelton and D.A. Ethan Asher, Santa Barbara

Dr. Baranski and Damian Smith, General Hospital

Speaking of GH, it was said that Robin Christopher played an assistant D.A. named Abby Mitchell in the '90s. Of course, she is now Skye Chandler-Quartermaine on GH.

Roy Thinnes had 2 roles on OLTL Alex Crown and Sloane Carpenter

Going way back Martin E Brooks played 2 roles on Search for Tomorrow Dan Walton 60-61 and Everett Moore 62-64.

He was replaced as Dan by Phillip Abbott and then shortly after came back in the new role. This must be a record !

Also on Search,Barbara Baxley played Monica Bergman and then a fw years later Jill Carter.

Louise Shaffer was Emily Rogers in the 60's and Sephanie Wyatt in the 80's.

On Love of Life,Joanna Roos played Althea Raven in the 50's and Sarah Dale from 68-78.Althea was Van's mother-in-law and Sarah was her mother!

Rod Arrants was Jeff on Y&R.He was the stable boy that a drunken Katherine seduced in 74, before returnng as Steven Lassiter,Ashley's first hubby in the late 80's.

Sabryn Genet had a small role as one of Nick's adoring admirers before assuming the role o Tricia.

I think John Aniston played a role on Days in the early 70's.Perhaps someone has more details.

On AMC, Ronald Guttman played one of the two kidnappers who abducted Hayley in that weird wacky hijinks galore storyline in the Bahamas in the early 1990's then returned from 2003 to 2007 as Alexander Cambias, Sr.

And we all (AMC fans) know Walt Willey played every day player character known to man on AMC before he was cast as Jackson Montgomery.

And James Kiberd, who played Trevor Dillon on AMC, played Mike Donovan on Loving in the mid 80s, then crossed over to Loving in the early 90s as Trevor Dillon.

And let's not forget that controversial recast of Sage Alcazar on GH. Originated by Eileen Boylan but recast with Katie Stuart who played another character, Cindy, like 8 weeks before.

While we're on General Hospital, let's not forget that weird vortex of a city they apparently live in where Sam McCall, Stan Johnson, Lainey Winters and Pete Marquez (among others) are/were all aesthetically identical to Livvie Locke, Jamal Woods, Imani and Ricky Garza from Port Charles, while Scott, Lucy and Kevin seem to stay the same people, yet Scott's never even noticed that there are dozens of people in Port Charles running around town who have indentical-yet-unrelated twins. Wouldn't it be just a little bit humorous for Scott to say something to Sam in passing about having seen her some place before? I dunno. Port Charles is just a weird city altogether. Apparently there are two Jason Morgans -- one who jumps bail is in prison awaiting trial for murder and another who is mopping floors at the hospital.

In the 80's on AW the guy who played Jordan the mobster came back briefly as another character.

Of course there was also Frankie Frame. After her death Alice Barrett came back as a look alike character. Poor Cass.

    • I don't really care about what the men are wearing, or not wearing.   What I care about is focusing on the writing and character development for each of the male characters. Andre really doesn't have a lot of character development that sets him apart from the other male characters except that he seems content to be degraded and mistreated by the elitist Dani.  I would like to know why a good looking younger guy like Andre would willingly be at the mercy of an emotional vampire such as Dani.   Martin, on the other hand, seems to have decent character development.. and it is partly due to how the actor chooses to recite his lines.  Martin was raised in a very privileged household and probably went to the best schools... so it makes sense that he would come across as thinking he was above everyone else.  Most people raised in a upper class situation as the Duprees would view themselves as better than others (it's the same trait Dani seems to employ on those she feels superior to). It makes me wonder how Nicole came out of that family being so warm and nurturing  when her family dynamics seemed very appearance oriented.
    • I know, right. I after just re-reading the thread, I'm like ooppph!
    • Lulu and Dante were divorced before her coma, but she was still in love with him.  He just didn't know.  They haven't been married for years.    I was pretty mixed about Lulu getting involved when it was just a child out there in the world, but now that she realizes it's Gio I am okay with her telling Dante.  It also is her son's sibling.  I still think it's BLQ's choice though.  Lulu is in a rough spot because I think Dante will be mad if she keeps it a secret and Chase, Brook, Lois, etc will be mad if Lulu tells. Without veering too far into the classic area of the show, I had no problem with Robin telling AJ about Michael.  It may not have *exactly* been her place, but she could see how Carly was manipulating the entire situation.  It also ruined her romantic relationship with Jason for good.  Jason and Sonny were furious with Robin and practically ran her out of town, so I think we were to believe she was the bad guy.  It was a bit out of character for Robin to spill, but KMc was leaving the show.
    • Rewatching/binging THE X-FILES Seasons 1 and 2 (almost done). So much fun re-experiencing, especially re-discovering some of the monster-of-the-week stories. THE WEST WING Seasons 1 and 2 as well - so good to rewatch now with 20 years more life experience and understanding. ALSO.... lol FOOTBALLERS' WIVES Season 3, which is just as bonkers as I remember and so so so so fun. I had forgotten about that iconic season cliffhanger. Good times. Excited to rewatch Seasons 4 and 5 since I remember so very little about them. Hope you've been enjoying!
    • @Toups Tyler Topits listed in alpha order with the breakdown writers 5/12 Monday episode. O'Connor still listed as both breakdown and script writer. Kreizman wrote today's script.
    • Marland was long gone by this point.  He quit in either August/September 1982. I think it was due to letting the actress play out her contract and use her for party scenes and/or scenes with Phillip/Justin.   I was surprised she was still on in June 1983 myself, because I figured she had been written out before Pam Long joined the writing staff. Thankfully, having episodes uploaded during this period on Spauldingfield YT site has helped to connect some of the dots.  It looks as though Pam Long starts the first week or so of May 1983.. and in those first few weeks: Morgan and Evie were both written off and Lillian/Mindy/Billy/Beth/Annabelle all come onto the show.
