On Brazilian novela "Caras & Bocas" (Faces and Mouths), Tatiana, played by Rachel Ripani, has breast cancer. Knowing that her beautiful, red hair will fall out, she decides to cut it off with the help of her mother-in-law Esther. I don't know, I kinda like Brazilian soaps, except that often they seem a bit... Dumb. There's a layer of something that's missing and I'm not yet able to define what it is. Members YRBB Posted February 7, 2010 Members Share Posted February 7, 2010 I have been thinking of ESMERALDA the last couple of days... it's been many, many years since I last saw it, but it was part of the "Latin Mania" about a decade ago in Greece... LA USURPADORA, ESMERALDA, MARIA LA DEL BARRIO and tons more would play simultaneously and I just adored them. Checking out some of the episodes online and I do have to note they had amazing, touching music. And, greatest of all I think was the romance of Adrian and Graciela. So tragic.... did they ever get together in the end? For some reason I believe they never did, even though they wanted it more than anything else in the world. Did she kill herself?
