The last storyline she was featured prominently in and she shined. So did the ratings did they not? I also belive they dove again once Marlena was killed. Not sayin' anything, I'm just sayin'. It was just a crazy storyline, loved seeing her just be so anti-Marlena. Although, I hated how Bo turned on Marlena during that. An in character version of Bo never would have belived it in the first place. He would have known, same as John, that something was up.

Every soap has that iconic female lead; AMC has Lucci, Y&R has Melody Scott, OLTL as Slezak, GL as Zimmer; there is no question that Dee is that for DAYS. as for the serial killer storyline, she was VERY good in it; I enjoyed her more in that than I did during the posession story. But it did bother me how quickly everyone turned on her, like Bo, and the others. They believed it too easily. I also thought that whole storyline was really well written, except that considering all of their loved ones were murdered, they pretty much handled it really well! lol In thinking of possible storylines, I'd love to see a copycat serial killer, and in memory of the Salem Strangler story, and the recent serial killer story, Marlena could get letters saying that unlike her, they really would kill, and only she could stop it! And if John is a victim? Marlena would lose it!

I loved that John never doubted her, and I liked that Hope actually stood up for her, but people belived it too easily. The whole "Marlena against the world" thing is awesome, but not when its out of character. Bo NEVER would have belived his Marlena could kill his mother, brother, niece, best friends and biological father. EVER. He just wouldn't. And god, I love Deidre and Peter together in scenes, but I wanted to strangle Bo (which I guess was a good thing, at least it brought out passion in me as a viewer). I loved seeing Marlena changing between so deliciously evil (Weekly called it SPINE-TINGLING) and someone who was so confused and truly didn't know what was happening to her. The story started sucking when Marlena died and they placed her on Melaswen. God Melaswen sucked. Almost as much as usual Salem did at the same time.

That might actually be really good! I want to see a story that focuses on Marlena and the traits she brings. She's one of the few really smart women in daytime, she's got ton of experience with psychos and she's worked at profiling before. I'd love to see that. I want an intelligent story for a change. I want one that shows her intelligence and then becomes personal and seeing her struggle with that, dealing with the pain and the guilt while trying to figure out who it is. Personally, I'd make it ROMAN, who's actually the DiMera pawn (he works for/with Andre), "kill" John and then bring him back as Roman. There were rumors during the radio show that some guy would call in and start stalking her, hurting people she loved, which would have made a great story.

While I agree it would be suicide for Days to fire John and Marlena (or at least Marlena) given their massive fanbase, I do think the characters are largely jokes today, have long since ceased being good actors, and derive from any new realism the show is striving for. Every scene is them lost in their own world, making out.
