Serena, even though she lost, her match was an on the edge of your seat type thriller. Most of these matches have been dull but most of the players themselves have pretty lackluster personalities. Hopefully there will be a nice little rivalry developing between Anisimova and Gauff. It could push each young woman to get better and it could be really good for women’s tennis and tennis overall. Cornet beat Serena a few times so I knew Cornet was going to relish taking on and the possibility of taking out the current #1. Others of the WTA will likely be taking note.
