I find many of the French players très exciting but are any of them really reliable?  Still Fritz looks every bit like a future Top 10 prospect.

I don't know what to make of the Harrison upset over Cilic, I guess it depends on whether Harrison can back up his win in the next round.

Good for him, I guess?

The upsets in Doha keep chuggin' along.  Kvitova is out (which honestly, is never that much of a surprise), Woz is out.  Any more?

Fritz is already ranked higher than Harrison….LOL.  Harrison has a lot of points to defend this week. If he doesn't make the semis he will drop to 145 in the world…..Fritz is already ranked 85 in the world. Not bad considering its his 3rd tournament in his pro career.

That loss drops Harrison to #145 in the world while Fritz yet to play is over 60 spots higher than him….LOL.  Ryan is still young…for some reason I thought he was in his mid 20s or closer to 30…..yet he can't win a tournament or make a final …just sad. Fritz in barely his 2nd tourney on tour made a final.

Maybe he's waiting for his late 20s/early 30s to make some sort of push.  I think because so many players are having longevity and others have peaked later in their career it's giving some players a false sense of security that somehow they have all the time in the world.  There are no guarantees that this will work for everyone.

At least some of the emerging talents like Fritz and Zverev are not waiting around, they're making moves now.  Meanwhile the Dimitrovs, the Harrisons and the Youngs are becoming part of a Lost Generation.

Ha and Dimitrov is playing Young …with Dimitrov finally breaking Young to go up 5-3 in the first set…..

And Sam Q is beating Kei?  I think Kei is going to turn out like Chang…..a one hit slam wonder …his game just hasn't seemed to bother the other players like it did a couple of years ago….

Oops…I was wrong about Harrison's ranking….

I like Kei but I think he, like Chang may be limited by size.  I hope I'm wrong because when Kei's on and healthy and engaged, he's dangerous but tennis for the most part is a big man's game.

Being too tall is not much of an advantage and could actually be a hindrance (look at Querry, Karlovic and Isner) but being over 6ft seems to be the minimum for Major success on the Men's tour.  Like I said, I hope Nishikori can really prove this not to be the case.

Dimitrov isn't taking it to Thiem. Thiem is hitting the bigger shots. Dimitrov game to me is too flashy….he really doesn't have a game plan when playing these players….he plays everyone the same…Dimitrov is reminding me of Agassi…he is too busy dating famous females to care fully about his game…now he is dating Nicole Scherzinger.

With win Thiem is up to #14 in the world…a new high ranking for him. Dimitrov didn't play very well at all.

Fritz is up next!

Fritz is clobbering Sam Querrey so far.

I think you're right about Dimitrov-- too busy trying to look good to grind out each point when necessary.  Gosh, even Federer has won playing ugly tennis!  Grigor needs to realize he can't look cute all the time.  If he doesn't start putting in some results, Scherzinger is going to dump him like Sharapova and Serena did.

I love it too (lol).  It's better that someone bring Querrey back down to earth so he doesn't think he can sleepwalk his way to success as he's been doing for years now.  He makes no use of even his height advantage, so I have little use for him.  Awhile back someone posted a meme of Sam just staring somewhat helplessly at a ball on the court as if he didn't know what to do with it (lol) I thought it was perfect to show how Sam looks to most of us.

The one thing I'm hoping is that Fritz won't have a lapse in concentration.  Sam's a terrible player but he's not dumb, he will seize on those types of opportunities.

    • I think Krista is too hot or her. I think the current actress works bc she comes across so basic. Thats not a dig but she feels very normal and relatable as an average suburban woman. I think if Krista was in the role, Id want more out of her but I dont think Jan is meant for bigger things

    • The sad thing about SC being a great actor is that his character has never worked. Ever. And yes if I don't know what Liam is about and just focus on acting... I can appreciate him. But as soon as I connect him to Liam... I cringe.  Maybe SC should run till he is still young and find himself a role where he can shine.
    • As I've said before I don't believe the fact that both sisters have cheating husbands (one in the past, one more recently) is a coincidence or anything random. It's pre-thought and pre-planned and the message is clear. Cheaters can be found in all shapes, forms and sizes. Some do it in the most blatant way, they are known serial cheaters and their wives know of their past hook ups (as Dani has already said... she was willing to forgive Bill for his previous mistresses... till Hayley came) and some are more masterfully disguised in the image of the perfect husband. The fact that Dani was jealous of her sister Nicole's happy marriage in the first episodes was not a coincidence. I knew it the first second I heard it. It made me wonder and think what is beneath Nicole and Ted's picture perfect life. The show painted two very different sisters and then gave them the same crisis. It was intentional and dramatically focused on how these women acted after that... How they kept or did not keep their dignity. The contrasts and the similarities are not random. They connected the two stories very well. Telling us that beyond the gates there are secrets... lies and betrayals. And sometimes the happiest ones have the biggest skeletons in their closets. Is all of this a cliche? A soap opera serial cliche? Yes. Does it still work? Yes. And did we need to start with something that is more universal and easier to stomach by the mass audience? Yes. This is only the beginning of the show in terms of stories and themes. We will have years ahead of us to explore different aspects of these people. The first couple of months it had to be a classic sex and betrayal story that makes more people hooked. It's universal. Again. Nothing so far about both husbands being cheaters is coincidental for me. It's too early for that.

    • Yes!!! Mona feels  like one of my aunts, love the way she carries herself. Loved seeing Eva pop-up at the gambling place.  Monday was all around good soap. Can't remember the last time an entire episode held my interest.  Loving the fallout and reverberations from Ted and Shea-Butter Sheila's affair

. Tricia Mann Grant is 90s early 2000s quality FINE. As nice as it would've been to see Anita embrace Eva, I'm glad she didn't because we can squeeze a lot more years of conflict out of Eva, Leslie and the Duprees.   Lauren & Sheila, Viki & Dorian, Katherine & Jill all gave us good conflict for decades. Hopefully this follows suit. I understand the concern. Right now there's an issue of quality of black representation on shows more so than quantity of black shows. I'd like to see more predominantly black sci-fi, legal, political, supernatural or medical dramas over the typical who is sleeping with who. However, this is a soap, and this is what happens on soaps. White soap characters do these things all the time, but have the luxury of being seen as individuals, not representations of their entire race. Husbands/fathers like Todd Manning, Victor Newman and Asa Buchanan cheat, lie and swindle all the time but aren't seen as a commentary on white men. Black characters like Ted and New Dollar Bill should be able to do the same.

    • Even under the new writers, Jamey episodes are the shortest and the weakest A lot of people were unnecessarily clowny and bitchy today. There was a lot of fluff and filler too. And the dialogue was a little… ehhh as well. But welcome back, Kevin! It’s been a long time lol his return still seems really random but I don’t mind it. Philip’s actions make sense to me based on everything that’s happened to him lately and it could possibly set up more tension between him and Xander/Alex. And I wouldn’t mind seeing him and Kevin team up. I thought the actor did a good job too. Too bad that they couldn’t get Robert Benvenisti back though. I didn’t realize it in 2001 but he was hot

And, we got the word that Arianna wants to come home. I’m looking forward to that, and seeing her relationships with Gabi, Marlena, etc. on display and I hope that

As for Rachel’s birthday party… was Days hinting at something that we’ve been speculating about since EJ was shot?
